These people care a great deal as to how they do what they do. It shows in the organized manner their store is laid out. They do need a better soldering station. JBC and Ersa are better known in Europe than here and they are the best two brands available over there. Proper seating is highly important so that they can focus on their work. Absolutely that microscope needs to be oriented directly down and not at an angle. Fume extraction is important for their health as breathing fumes is unhealthy. I’m glad to see they care about getting improved education also. Press on Justin and keep pushing quality in repair as you have since the beginning!

No computer/monitor with schematics and pcb layout? Edit - and some cable management on the wire to the led light on the microscope ;ø)

haha yes! we talked about setting him up a computer station. his computer was just elsewhere and just needed moved =) Good call for sure though, having a computer with a good size and resolution monitor can speed things up like crazy if your doing diag work.

look for visual signs first in the microscope or with your eyes, then look for heat by using freeze spray or iso if you need to as well, might want to look online and confirm some stuff about who and what everything is but hopefully that helps.

Course is in engilsh primarily, and there will be a USA course for sure, not sure when, but you don't need a shop to learn Ronald! Learn for yourself and your own new business =)

@@ronaldhowell5831 Everything you need is actually free on my channel, just need to go watch all the videos, I have playlists as well. The course is only for those who know they want to learn in person and want direct questions answered one on one. the links in the description take you to their pages with the information you seek on pricing.

@@TheArtofRepair He's making a reasonable point. It would be nice to offer a comprehensive course for micro-soldering and repair for sale. The channel videos are good, but they don't cover all the basics, nor are they organized in a sequence aimed towards the beginner. Currently, if you want to learn, or at least stay ahead, you have to practice your Chinglish and go to China. I think if you priced such a course at $20 along with referrals sales of tools and materials, you'd make a killing.

I want to become a microsoldering expert repairer. I am trying to teach myself but drastically I don't have any equipment or tools other than a soldering iron. As a disabled Air Force Veteran who's unable to work a normal job and that means I have no income. The VA only gives me $280ish per month and that's it. I can't afford a lot but I want to make a business but lack so much.
@TheArtofRepair2 жыл бұрын
I think my best advice at this point would maybe be to try to do some regular screen repairs and work through some of your local veteran groups, maybe give some discounted work to fellows and then when the times right. Boom. get some new gear. It might take a few months but I know you can do it!
@bobweiram63212 жыл бұрын
I was about to tell you to pass around the hat until I realized this is an actual business. The lame tooling doesn't instill much confidence in their capabilities. The puny, underpowered ultrasonic cleaner on the shelf does wonders on grandma's dentures, but barely anything on a corroded or fluxed up PCB. In my shop, that pathetic soldering station isn't even a good stand in if my more capable Metcal calls in sick. Even the cheapest T12 DIY station on eBay and Amazon have infinitely better performance. Right now, Aixun makes an unbelievably good and affordable JBC clone, which many reviewers claim to be as good or better than the real deal. At around $120, with two c245 tips and stand, you have to be a idiot not to buy one!
@em0_tion2 жыл бұрын
I second the T12 DIY stations, they bring immense value for their low price. Once I switched to a KSGER T12 for basic soldering, I never looked back. I have my eyes on the Aixun as well. 😁 Very good suggestions indeed! 👍

Hakko is overpriced. Chinese JC AIXUN is much-much beter, JBC cartridges compatible and it costs 100€.
