Be cautious using the commercial tip thinner/cleaner compounds. Weller, and most soldering equipment makers, warn against that as it wears the tips quite fast due to the high acid content. Weller recommends the tip polisher bar.

Alright I'll be the a#%hole. Nope, there's no "oxidation" there. But there is iron oxide... or just, oxide. Oxidation is a process, not a compound.

Hi there, do you know any software that includes capacitor values in the boardview? E.g., of the OnePlus 7 pro?

I’m a beginner at this and your video has great advice. I do have one question though, what is a good temp to run a soldering station? On average 350F or higher?
@TheArtofRepairАй бұрын
@@edwinvonessen1165 yea I think it’s more important to pick the largest tip or nozzle to fit the target joint or joints. This will do better for you than hiking temp up. 350 to start. Move up till it works with that largest possible tip You got this!

This is a point of annoyance for me. Been fighting my lenses for my camera. Still fighting. I have the trinocular with a .7 Barlow, and nothing lines up. Only one I get to sync with eyepiece gives 1/3 of the sight picture. I tried a .3 mount with a .3 Barlow on the scope and it’s only usable on my feet. I can’t find a .7 lens for the cmount

What do you use to get rid of smouldering chips.. if I need to repair a chip that has a few copper cords attached.. I'm not much of a computer tech person.. but I'm willing to give it a go for fixing a motor control car for my kid.. apparently the cords were ripped out of the chip an I need to put the cords an wires back on the chip an smoulder it together.. what tools would be useful in Australia?

@@RuiCarvalho-l2r most things just don’t exist. And you need the experience of working on the things that do to call inferences to them. Or you need to have a working model to create diagnostic data from. To be honest it’s the biggest hurdle in repair and unless you are dedicated. You won’t move past this obstacle. It will cost time money and sweat and sometimes tears. The biggest thing learn your ohms law and multimeter like it’s a family member. You got this!

Wow... after looking at a business to business site, then looking at consumer sites, the markup on the 3m and Tesa Tapes is insane. Some of them go from like $3 a roll for a business to $20 for a consumer and it's not a difference between bulk and one off pricing. Talk about a racket.

I’m new on the soldering job. I was trying soldering lcd FPC connector on iPhone 12 Pro Max motherboard. I removed the old broken FPC, cleaned the area and was trying to reball the pads eventually I ruined three pads as the soldering wire created large balls which wouldn’t remove from the board so I scratched them with the iron and pads were removed. Why when I go over the pads with the iron the actual solder wire not sticking on the pads and creating iron balls all over? Is this board done?

Quick production note: please shift (no flip) your body camera image to the right side. Your facing away from the center of the screen is highly disturbing. It’s a basic photography composition rule. The energy is directed to the outside of the frame, it’s cognitively dissonant since the action (microscope view) is in the middle of the composition. Great lighting and image quality otherwise 👍
