Imagine your child has long hair and swims down by the main drain. Their hair gets entangled/suctioned to the main drain and panic ensues. The horror of drowning in your own backyard in front of family and friends. Total nightmare fuel for all involved Get that single drain updated to code or shut it off entirely

I am a pool professional, but the only thing I will mess with on the electrical side, is direct replacement. Recently replaced a liner and wanted to upgrade the lights. I’m not touching that, because of the risk of electrocution.

Thoughts on reversing the single main drain? Or would this mess up the flow dynamics by having too much return and not enough suction, leading to too little back pressure at the pump? Also, I thought that ensuring less than 1.5 fps in the a main drain with an appropriate cover is generally safe (though installing a flow meter in a residential pool for just the main drain is likely not a simple task for most plumbing).

Customer - electrician wanted to charge me over $1000 to wire my system. So I did it myself for under 100. The entire thing was done (salt, heater, pump, ect) by chopping up a home depot extension cord. I walked off the job. FFS
