Omg Carrie what you said about living abroad and away from family explained my feelings so perfectly! I'm in a really similar situation having moved from Melbourne to country Ireland and I really appreciate that other people feel the same way as I do - I love it here so much, I miss all the people back home but I love being able to spend such quality time with them now when I do see them. Love seeing your journey over the past few years, thanks so much for sharing ❤

Thanks for watching and leaving a comment. It's an interesting combination of emotions isn't it? We speak about it more in the new episode of Soul Sugar Podcast. Check it out here kzbin.info/www/bejne/fqusc6SsbNKEa9U

We had our son in his nursery by 4 months and I'm so happy that was our decision because both he and I couldn't sleep well in the same room. Now he's almost 3 and we have never had issues with him not wanting to sleep in his bed. I'm currently pregnant with baby #2 and will hopefully be doing the same. My sleep is so important to have the house functioning the way it needs to.

Hi Carrie, I'm a Kiwi from Wellington and moved to Australia. When I see your videos I feel so homesick. Wish I had never moved.

At my obgyn office in 🇨🇦, the first thing you do is step on the scale, the number blares at you along with your bmi, and then they immediately take your blood pressure. And then have to take it again cause of course its higher from anxiety of being called back and getting weighed immediately😂

Loved this! I used to work with a physicians locums agency, sending docs to take positions in New Zealand. We always told them the Kiwis “work to live not live to work” like Americans. A much more enjoyable lifestyle! ❤ love your videos!

Second baby has humbled me big time ! No independent naps for this gal, so I struggle big time not being able to maximum nap times like I could with my son. So yep definitely have had to accept the flow of things. Watched this while contacting napping my 10 month old.. thank you for keeping me entertained!

Currently watching on my couch in Auckland while my boys are napping 🥰 sunshine is beaming through and my cherry blossom has bloomed 🌸🌸 oooh so intrigued about E's beautiful eyes. Would you consider taking a close up photo of just her eye and posting it? 😍 love eye colours! My eyes are green and both my boys have their daddys brown eyes x

I will likely get some close ups of her eyes! xx

From memory I read ( 13 years ago) that accidents with co sleeping are almost entirely when parent is on heavy meds / drugs/ alcohol or similar. We co slept as I was BF on demand and dream feeding was much better than the alternative ! Wish I’d had a monitor like the one you describe though. Would have saved a lot of angst.

I co-slept with my last two from the beginning, because if I hadn't I would have gone insane as sleep was not happening. Tribes co-sleep, I would also make sure there was nothing around to smother them..and I was also aware all the time. But that is what worked for us.

This video was very fun! My eyes changed from blue to green when I was almost 2! So it can happen quite late sometimes.

Sooo… not all babies are in cribs in the US. But we lie to our pediatricians about it so they don’t shame us and give us mom guilt. My exclusively breastfed baby and I have been following safe cosleeping for all 16 months and it’s amazing. And the more I open up to other moms about this, the more I realize we all just use our cribs to hold laundry and stuffed animals!

Everybody on my dad's side had dark blue eyes, and I had them when I was small, but they changed into a greenish brown (more my mum's side) when I was almost a toddler! usually it happens earlier, but it can happen! Nobody believes me when I say it by my mom told me so! (also, I had very young memories, and I remember it happening).

Very interesting! Yes, I’ve heard of eye color changing in the toddler stage for some. It’s much later than most, but came happen. I don’t think she will ever have brown eyes but maybe they will go more green someday.

My midwives in Canada didnt weigh me in pregnancy, though i know that wasnt the case with friends and fam who had a GP or OBGYN. Our midwifery clinic had a sign up that said "The earth's gravitational pull on your body has nothing to do with the wellbeing of your baby" preach haha ❤

Hi Carrie. I am a Kiwi who emigrated to Canada. One of things I struggled with, when I first moved to Canada was driving on the "Wrong side" of the road. I'm pretty sure Alex learned how to drive on the left side of the road from his teenage years. How long did it take for YOU to be comfortable driving on the "Wrong" side of the road?
@CarrieRad3 ай бұрын
A very long time Francesca haha like almost 2 years and now I feel more comfortable driving in NZ than America 😅

The midwife will weight you if they are concerned with you weight or your not of a healthy weight. And if your under the hospital I.e. wellington hospital who has specialised drs if you have any complications they will weight you. So I think its one of the perks of having a smooth pregnancy and a healthy body and lifestyle 😊

Postpartum mummas keep up your vitamins ❤❤ I'm nearly 5 months in and there are days I forget the vitamins and I notice a huge difference! Definitely feel best when I keep up and eating every 2 hours to keep up with baby and nearly 3 y/o 😂😂❤

My kids have blue eyes and green eyes.... I have hazel eyes, their dad brown eyes.... maybe she will have a bit of green as she gets older. My eldest she had blue until her teens, now they are green. You just never know.

my first two children I was unable to breastfeed...which is sad, but my last two, I breastfed for 2.5 years each, they never used a bottle (neither would take one) and went to a sipper after breastfeeding. Also if you have seen those little fruit sucker bags for little ones, they are the best invention.

The comment about American doctors/midwives weighing is interesting. Its been 15 years since my last pregnancy, but I was never weighed by my midwives. I cant recall anyone ever telling me they have been weighed either. Im not even sure what purpose it would serve. The only reason I can think of to do it if there was sudden, unexplained and abnormal weight gain.
@caseysauls96633 ай бұрын
Sudden weight gain can be a sign of preeclampsia so it is actually relevant to the health of mom and baby

As her hubby has an American accent it's unlikely her accent will significantly change anytime soon, if her hubby had a Kiwi accent she'd already be sounding different.

Hi Carrie, I was wondering if you noticed a big difference going back to LA? As I’ve seen some pretty bleak KZbins of it, San Fran and also New York. It made me sad seeing everything boarded up down the blvd, and even Hollywood and Beverly Hills seem like ghost towns. I’m aware of the large homeless population downtown. But there was never a single thought that the vibe may disappear from these areas. I’m hoping that these KZbinrs are exaggerating, cause it feels like a piece of my childhood has died. I understand the San Fran issue and the New York one, but not LA😢? Oh and make sure u r growing tons of cabbage when u start to wean, they are a lifesaver for relief. Arohanui

They went to and stayed in super nice places, but we lived with my in laws for a year in SoCal and just got back. My husband grew up there and in his words it has just been completely ruined. Not that there’s nothing nice about it anymore, but it’s nowhere near as good as it was when he was growing up.
