In the first hand of the stand-up game on The Hustler Casino Live stream, we follow along from Peter’s perspective playing against the loose maniac that is Nik Airball. Peter found himself facing a bet of over $70,000 on the river after improving to two pair on a very connected board! Knowing Airball isn’t one to shy away from blasting off, do you think he had the goods or not?
You should look to pot control with your medium-strength hands when you have been checked to by your opponent. By betting, you not only inflate the size of the pot but you also re-open the action for your opponent to potentially push you out with a draw or a bluff.

🔍 Preflop:
In the very first hand of the stand-up game with blinds at $200/$400, Peter raises from the button to $2,000 with T7 of diamonds. Nik Airball 3-bets out of the small blind to $12,000 with a mystery hand! After the big blind folds, Peter calls to see the flop.
💸 Flop - Jc Ts 9d:
Nik Airball down-bets to $8,000 on the jack-high connected flop and gets a call from Peter with middle pair, a gutshot, and a backdoor flush draw.
💣 Turn - 2d:
The 2 of diamonds on the turn sees Nik slow down and check to Peter, who has now picked up a ten-high backdoor flush draw. He bets $17,000 with second pair and both his flush draw and straight draw. Nik Airball then check-raises to $52,000. Peter sticks around with a call as they head to the river.
🌊 River - 7s:
The backdoor flush draw bricks on the 7 of spades river, but it now does mean that any eight now makes a straight. Nik moves all-in for $76,400, and now the decision is back on Peter to call or fold. Peter may have bricked his draws, but he did river two pair and now beats any overpair that Nik could potentially hold. But what does Nik have? Value or air? Stick around to the end of this poker video to find out!
