So the last couple weeks I've been playing the new Nintendo Switch game Ring Fit Adventure and I figured due to it being a game promoting fitness I would give yall a good ol JaxBlade Review. Is it truly an effective workout or just an easy game for beginners to try out. Well today we discuss that very thing.

JaxBlade , hey JaxBlade I was looking to get some tips on how to burn weight off for my mom, she’s thinking about getting surgery to remove weight but I don’t want her to resort to that before trying working out, so I was hoping you had some tips or specific videos to look at so I can work out with her so I can also get back to being fit cause I slouched off a bit after track season last year

Absolutely love it. I've been a couch potato pretty much for the last four or five years but I've been playing this every day ever since I got it. Was super hard in the beginning (like, heart rate of 180 bpm hard) but it's become much easier already, while upping the intensity a couple of times. Turns out the best way to make an avid gamer move his body is to make a compelling game

@LazyCrazyGuy

I just started Sunday Night. Been going really well. I started intermittent fasting Tuesday the 28th of January. Started at 178 lbs and on Sunday February 2 I picked up the game. Been playing on Extreme since day 1 because lower levels weren't doing it for me. So far this morning I weighed 169 lbs. I am feeling stronger already and have more energy. I did not previously workout or am I fit. I have always walked about 3 miles a day but that's about it. 10 years ago I was as fit as can be but I fell off the health wagon long ago. In just the few days of doing this and with proper diet (lots of protein and healthy fats) my muscles are starting to show again. Like they say once you have it, it doesn't take a lot to get it back. So far I am very impressed with the game. I can't stress enough how important proper posture and squeezing the muscles is to get the full benefit of the workout though. The game does tell you but it doesn't really have a way to tell you if you can get more out of you. You should constantly challenge yourself to squeeze harder and holding proper posture at the same time(easier said than done.) All of this has been achieved by eating about 1500 calories a day with very little carbs. Mostly protein and fats. Multivitamin and 10 minute workouts and starting yesterday I upped to 20 min.

Love the game, would definitely buy a sequel or expansion dlc The problem I had that could be fixed in the sequel is how the only way to defend is an Ab Guard. Think the biggest improvement a sequel could bring would be adding in another sensor in some way, its already kinda pushing the limits of what can be done with just the ring and a legstrap. Like it can't actually check if you do the tree pose right, it just checks if you're lifting the ring.

Video games have lots of workout potential..low key one of my favorite games in the arcade was a boxing game that used infrared sensors and big plastic boxing gloves and you had to legit box by blocking and throwing punches while dodging. At the end you had to throw a massive combo of jabs to knock out the opponent and each one took more jabs to KO..I would play that game and come out sweating and breathless but happy and a few pounds lighter, my legs would burn from the constant bob and weave of dodging the CPU..also the gloves weighed a good 3 pounds each of dense plastic so your arms would get a good workout too.

Hmm... Inspiration strikes. If we can make this, then maybe we could market a VRRPG with a motion-control suit that adds/removes resistance to areas of the body based on what you have equipped (EG: Make it physically harder to move your legs when you're wearing heavier gear, make swinging heavy weapons take more effort, etc.), that includes a "weapon wand" with a "dual-grip" feature that adjusts resistance for two-handing. Optionally, they could also add a stat-based system that allows you to invest points to lower resistance in specific areas of the body (Arms to swing your weapon faster, legs so you can run faster, etc.). Understandably, the average person would probably start out being only able to handle light/middle-weight equipment, but maybe the heavy stuff would incentivize them to work out more.

I picked it up nearly 2 weeks ago - I am an IT guy who only really walks a little bit to and from work, so I'm horribly out of shape. The first day I only managed to do 8 minutes of active time (the time the game counts), and now after 11 days of playing daily, I got to over 23 minutes before getting tired. Might just be newbie gains, but I can feel it working. It's also quite impressive just how many exercises you can do with a leg strap and a ring con.

I've been the type who just walked instead of taking the elevator etc but realized around when it came out I really got out of shape whenever I had to run somewhere (and I gained weight too) so this was pretty perfectly timed. Been at it pretty much daily for a month now and it definitely helped me a bunch. I'm up from difficulty lv 4 to 12, I can run for a bit without losing my breath, mass has shifted around... I'd even dare say its much more effective than when I went to an actual gym a few years ago, but maybe thats just the kind of person I am. And I definitely think it could be a very nice combination with going to a gym for more weight training. The game also can't really do much for people in terms of the right diet for more intense workouts.

I got bored of gym excercises easily when doing them there, but with this game I actually like doing them. Because there's a extra (immediate) reason than just improving my health (slow). It helps the craving for immediate gratification we're all prone to.

This really is the first Fitness GAME we've had, and it's actually fun. Now there shure was Wii Fit and stuff, but that barely had any gameplay. This feels like a proper game. Sure, it won't have the most complex game mechanics and certainly not the most complex story ever, but it has a lot of charme and it does, what it's supposed to: Encouraging to play (work out). And that's what I like about it. Because I don't enjoy working out (at all) and for the sake of F I can't get motivated to do anything sports related. Tell me all about how I'm gonna feel better, how I'm gonna live longer and that stuff, but that's not doing it. This game, for whatever reason, actually does me want to work out. Our monkey brains really love leveling up, unlocking stuff and all of that. So I've actually had a workout 3 times a week for the last month, which is more then I've had in the last 10 years. Now I don't need to burn fat, because I'm at a very healthy weight. I don't need more arm Muscles, because I'm sure as hell training them by doing my actual job. But my stamina is pretty bad, I've got practically no muscles on my belly and my shoulders no need more strength, as I'm not using them a lot for work, yet they'll hurt sometimes after a hard week. Stamina is getting a bit better, abs not to much, but I'll see how that'll work in the future. And my shoulders are actually improving quite a bit. So as I'm otherwise REALLY hating working out, this seems to be the only option to keep me doing it, which is fantastic. And I'm defenetly feeling better after that workout. So I'm pretty glad, I've spend that 80$. If I payed that for a Gym, I'd be stuck in a year long contract worth 250$ and I'd stop training after a month or two completely, because I Know myself.

I'm late to the party here, but it honestly is such a great game. It won't turn you into Jotoro or something, but for just general fitness and staying healthy it's great. And there's something that feels so great when the enemy blasts off after a leg lift or bow pull, it's great. I've been on it most days for about a month and lost 20 pounds.

I just got this game about a week ago. Thus far I am absolutely loving it; the goal-oriented nature of it all and the RPG mechanics make strength training MUCH more engaging for me, as I usually hate how unrewarding strength is in particular - cardio, I find oddly relaxing. The only complaint I personally have is that the RPG mechanics sometimes interact oddly with the actual motions. Squats are a level one skill that you have unlocked from the get-go, which is cool.... but in my own personal opinion, squats are probably one of the absolute hardest and best leg exercises there is, and the game doesn't give them much 'weight' in terms of RPG mechanics at all! Things like knee lifts do dramatically more damage to enemies, but require much less of the player. I do feel like the game could do a better job incentivizing the really hard exercises.... but, that's really my only complaint thus far. Otherwise, it's been an absolute blast.

Purely for research being as unfit as I am, I played Extreme on day one to see what my heart rate would be. It was around 180 beats/min and the game was like, "that was a good work out!", no "you may want to turn it town a notch". It did act as a good confidence booster though XD I'm just easy myself into it, once a week, then slowly escalate it to (almost) everyday.
