Steve Kaufman talks about noticing in his videos a lot. I see this phenomenon like many other processes in learning. Something that happens but I can’t really force it aside from spending more time with the language and even then there’s probably a limit.

When I first got the refold deck I couldn't understand why the words murder and to kill were in the high frequency deck. But now I've noticed they appear EVERYWHERE, definitely in fast paced crime shows but also in quotes where you kill a concept like love.

As if the word weren't overused enough already, this sounds a bit like "mindfulness" -- recognizing the minutiae of reality and internalizing its significance
