Hey y'all! How does Syrup Village compare in the LA versus the anime? It seems like some anime fans actually like this arc more in the LA, which is surprising! We're so used to hearing the opposite
@highlyeducatedtrucker Жыл бұрын
The Live Action did Usopp dirty compared to the anime. The story is about 60% different. Some things are there (Kuro, Kaya, Butchi, Siam), but Usopp was much more heroic in the anime.
@klairvoyance Жыл бұрын
Syrup Village is almost unanimously agreed to be the weakest arc in the entire series since it kinda dragged, which in turn the LA fixed by turning it into a condensed spooky murder mystery. However, that came also with cutting out almost the entirety of Usopp's character arc lol...but ig S2 can somewhat fix what was left out here
@disturbed172 Жыл бұрын
It's much better in the anime imo. The story makes more sense as a whole.
@peppermintfables Жыл бұрын
I get that some people feel like Syrup Village takes to long kn the anime/manga and this is a good way to condens it but Usopp really suffers from it. Which is a shame bc his actor his sooo good and he really shows it in the small moments but they didnt really give him a chance to show it in Usopps canonical big moments that were either shortend or completely cut
@fakecubed Жыл бұрын
@@highlyeducatedtrucker How is he not heroic in the live action? Usopp is great. Never seen the anime or read the manga. I see in him what Luffy sees in him.

Garp is pretty well loved by the fandom, he ranked 44th in the Global popularity poll held last year which is pretty high for a series with over a thousand named characters. Definetly a very complex character that some people disagree with his actions but i dont think there's anyone that really hates him.
@rromano158 Жыл бұрын
Yeah, he's not really a bad guy...he's extremely stubborn and singly minded in the belief that the Marines are the only thing holding up against the pirates.
@benjaminroe311ify9 ай бұрын
Yeah Garp is almost a perfect marine. He combats bad marines and bad pirates alike and really wants to steer Luffy away from being a pirate because of Gold Roger's fate.

I really like how you guys acknowledge the panda in the background because Panda/Pandaman is a joke character created by Eiichiro Oda the creator of OP, and one of the most prominent easter eggs in One Piece. Pandaman has gone on to make cameo appearances in many manga chapters, anime episodes, films, and more. And Zoro was suspicious about Kuro/Klahadore because if you remember in episode 2 when Nami opened the vault where the map of Grandline was keep the wanted poster of Kuro was also there with the map. Anyway, great reaction guyss 👏

The game Coby and Garp were playing is called GO, it is an Asian game, idk exactly from where. Also, There are people in this Anime/Manga that are Part-animal Part-Human, they are called Minks, They dont really mention it much, if at all, so Fish-People are actually part fish and Mary was actually part sheep. Those horns were real.
@lightblindedfool95107 ай бұрын
I love the camera work in this series on top of basically everything else about this series. The transition in Ep3 from the playing piece on the Go board to the top down view of Luffy's hat was masterful.
@ahshahshajsa Жыл бұрын
To answer a couple of your questions: Yes the game Garp and Koby are playing is called Go. It's I think one of the oldest board games in the world, older than chess. Yes, Garp is a fan favorite in the manga, though I don't think it would be a spoiler to say he got fast tracked into the story in the live action. In the manga, he doesn't appear until chapter 400-something while the LA only covers the first 95 chapters. Also don't worry if you don't enjoy Syrup Village. It's a pretty weak arc in the manga as well and the LA doesn't really improve on it. Also random fact - blonde guy with shitty haircut's name is Helmeppo. It's not a spoiler it's just that the live action I think mentions it only once and you can easily miss it. Keep up the good work! Really enjoying these reactions.
@jo2399 Жыл бұрын
I think the LA did improve Syrup Village though. I don’t like that the show cut so much out of Usopp’s screen time, but many reactors seem to enjoy the arc over all a lot after watching ep. 4, which is what this episode was building up to. A couple of reaction channels even went so far as to say ep. 4 was their favorite alongside ep. 7, which is really saying something.
@f.carasind4188 Жыл бұрын
Garp's first appears in the manga in chapter 92 in Koby's cover story (that he already is in the East Blue inspired the showrunners to his story in the live action). It was adapted as episode 68 of the anime.
@ahshahshajsa Жыл бұрын
@@jo2399It improved it in some respects and downgraded it in others. Kuro is much more menacing and making the setting a creepy Tim Burton-esque mansion as opposed to some generic beach was a great choice, but Kuro's plan makes even less sense than in the manga and Usopp demonstrating his skills by shooting pebbles at a pan is less impressive than what he does in the manga where he's involved in actual combat.

You guys do damn funny reactions 😁 1st is Joan getting upset at the drowning snail. Don't take her to a French restaurant, she might lose it. Then Joan rolls her eyes at the ram other ships remark, but Micahel makes up for it with "bluten free" Which caused a crack up. And for bonus Joan joked that they may spell out things with the game tiles...like boobs on a calculator....or saying Nami's pillowcase was her tampons. Looking forward to more laughs. Oh and Joan "it just gets better from here" So, this will likely remain your least favorite episode and prepare for new favorites 😜

If u liked Live action, u must watch the anime by urself. If u felt any emotion in this, u will just be lost in the depth and emotion of the actual story. It is a promise, u have never read a story as detailed, emotionally rich and epic as this. Anyone who loves a great story can't miss this. Just give it a try. U all can thank me later Just a short trivia: The mangaka/writer of OP who is Eiichiro Oda works 21 hours per day and sleeps only 3. He has been doing this for past 30 years. This alone should be enough to give u the passion and dedication behind this masterpiece. It is still one of the best literature ever existed, with the mixture of childish banters/fun. It handled many dark and problematic themes with much care and devotion. It is a must watch for anyone. U won't know what u are missing until u watch it 🙏
