I really love your vids and your plants. I’m jealous since I live in an area that is best suited for highlanders, so intermediates don’t do as well.

Thanks! Most of us struggle to keep highland species ;) where do you live? Do you grow them inside or outside?
@TRRAAAAAAAAA111 Жыл бұрын
I can't even dream to have a highland species without a room with AC 🤧 Ultra lowlands/lowlands do love it here though! Intermediates are a bit harder but still conquerable.

@@TRRAAAAAAAAA111 Yes, we have to find the plants that match our temperatures. For me, true highland and ultra highland are impossible, just as true lowland. ;)

@@WindowsillNepenthes I live in South Carolina in the United States. So nighttime temps are around 75F+ (24C+) and daytime temps are around 85F daytime (30C). I can grow intermediate neps with a lowland hybrid. Truncata crosses do really well. I just got a growtent, so maybe when I get enough money to cool it, I can get some more intermediates or highlanders :)

@@livingroom7609 that's some nice warm temperatures for sure 😁

Im a recent carnivorous plant enthusiasts. I've kept all sorts of creepy crawlies and these are right up my alley. I wanted carnivorous plants that didn't go dormant in the winter and that's when I found your channel. Now I have a growing collection of nepenthes that I would love to share with you one day. And... perhaps write a book on them myself.

It worked really fast on my Jamban. I saw growth in less than a month.

Oh my goodness! I can't believe that today, of all days, you posted this video. 😊I do not grow orchids nor nepenthes but I've been very curious about this keiki paste. I plan on doing some experimenting with other houseplants plants. I ordered some yesterday and it should be arriving today. Thanks so much for the video. I feel much better about it not being a complete waste of money. Lol.

Amazing video! I wanted to ask, do you think keiki paste will work on parts of the stem tgat turned to wood? I have a burdgeae x petiolata thats super tall and like 90% wood, i wanna grow some greenery at its base but its, well, woodified lmao
@WindowsillNepenthes Жыл бұрын
I would try yes, as long as it's on a dormant node. Maybe see if you can grind a little the very top of the wood (not the node) to make it easier?
@HelgrafFireHammer Жыл бұрын
@@WindowsillNepenthes ah, I will definitely try that! Thank you! I will report my findings back to you in probably 8 years or smth 🤣

Do you use this paste just once per spot or does it need to be applied frequently? :)

Very cool

Hi I was looking at your sphagnum moss growing videos and I was wondering how you manage to prevent fungus and algae from growing in your moss? There is no drainage hole so the water looks pretty stagnant and even tho there is a screen they are very close to this turbo bacteria soup.
@WindowsillNepenthes Жыл бұрын
The water under the sphagnum doesn't see the light, so no algae grows in it. The big lid has 2 opened vent for airflow so it's also helping. ;)

I have had months of deformed pitchers on a ventrata I tested on 🤣 I'm mostly cutting off what grows to make cutting to hopefully strip stressing the plant. I'm interested if you have used mychorhizial fungi to support your nep growth?
@WindowsillNepenthes Жыл бұрын
Not yet, I was thinking mychor' would be a test on seeds to see if the germinate better or to prevent the unexpected sudden death of seedlings.
