Is Oscar’s Steakhouse in Downtown Las Vegas Worth Leaving the Strip?

Today we’re at Oscar’s Steakhouse on Fremont Street in Downtown Las Vegas. It's named after former mob attorney and Las Vegas Mayor Oscar Goodman and is located in a beautiful glass dome in the Plaza Hotel and Casino. We'll be trying Oscar's bone-in rib eye, black angus burger, Brussels sprouts, creamed corn and deep dish chocolate chip cookie!

We ate at Oscar's on Thanksgiving day last year (which happened to coincide with my wife's birthday) - the place was full at 4:00 P.M. (with people lining up as we left). I had the bone-in ribeye myself - I thought it was great and cooked perfectly! My family had other dishes (like salmon) - they thought their dishes were great too. The view of Fremont Street at night really added to ambiance. Really, really love your steak videos - including your Las Vegas ones too! Thanks much, Kristin & Will!

As a local, I would recommend The Charcoal Room at Santa Fe, on N Rancho. Moderately priced, and great service!

Just ate there for the first time this past week. I had an 8oz filet, it was fabulous. Service was outstanding, and the overall value proposition is far better than the joints on the strip. Will definitely return!

We tried Oscars a couple of years ago & we were disappointed. I had seen some KZbin videos & was pretty excited to try it. Like you, I felt the steak was bland, like everything else we ordered. The steakhouses I eat at here in Texas are better & half the cost. I understand it’s Vegas prices, but the food wasn’t great, especially for the price.

We watched some videos as well and honestly I think some of them might have been invited. We enjoyed it but the steak was certainly not one of the better ones we had. We’re hoping to plan a Texas trip soon! Have any good recommendations?

I think Oscar's is great downtown. Really good food and value. The scene with DeNiro and Sharon Stone in "Casino" was filmed here. Try Barry's next!!! 😊

I’ve been to Oscar’s and you can get an Oscar upgrade with the steak which is bernaise sauce with asparagus and crab meat on top of the steak. Highly recommended.

The wife and I were just there 2 weeks ago. OMG what a great meal I had. I ordered the 22 ounce (I think it was 22 ounces) bone in ribeye. Man, let me tell you it was the best steak I ever had. I wasn’t too happy with the sides we chose, but the steak was crazy good. When we go back, I will go back there.

@@travelfuller creamed corned and Mac & Oscar; I thought the creamed corn needed a little more sugar 😊. I’m from the South and let’s just say “we don’t make Mac & Cheese” the way Oscar’s does lol. You can tell they use top notch meat there. Next time we will try other sides.

I think the best steaks i had was the rib-cap at ramsay steak at paris! The bone in rib-eye at Bavettes and the chili rub rib-eye at wynn SW steak

Our thoughts exactly. I think it was just a slightly inferior steak which kind of explains the price difference. Not bad but not amazing either. The location and atmosphere was awesome tho!

my wife and i have been to vegas about a dozen times and oscars was the first time we had a steak ,we went to oscars to me it was ok but i would not go back there would try some other places in vegas that is my opinion and i am sure others would disagree enjoy
