Is our Lexus is200 a good drift car? | Testing the 1UZ on track!

We picked up this sweet Lexus is200 a few weeks back and wanted it to be a good balance of show car and drift car. It got lots of attention at the show, but now it's time to see if this 1UZ powered Lexus can hang, and if the is200 is good for drifting, not just diffing. The Lexus held up pretty good, and it proved the is200 is a capable chassis.

1UZ-FE is my favorite engine of all time. I'm convinced there is no better overall vehicle package than an LS400 and you can't go wrong transplanting it's heart into another Lexus!

Loven the is, for drifting the track would defo say needs a turbo then obv a map bring it up till about 350- 400bhp just enough for the track still drive able on the road an won't eat the tyres on track

Needs boost to sort out the lack of power that single turbo kit similar to that drift car would be nice. The 1uz internals are really strong from factory it comes from the over engineered 2j era remember. Toyota was on a whole different level back then.

3rd in the Mustang is +90mph with a 3.7 ratio, 3rd in the Lexus is 50mph+ so quite a difference. Wheel speed in the Mustang in 3rd means it goes nowhere
