Check Kora's teats - if it's a false pregnancy and she gets milk in her treats that sits there she can get mastitis which can easily turn into an infection and she could die from that.

If she has milk and no puppies, check her for any discharge. We lost a female that had a fake pregnancy and ended up with a major infection

Yes I lost a dog after giving that med too. And I had to have my 2nd one fixed cause she had the infection almost lost her too. Those girls cost me a ton of money to have them shipped to the US. From then on they go into a 10X10 with top pen for 2 weeks. I will never use that stuff again.

Just an FYI - False pregnancies can be very hard on a dog. My friends Wheaton terrier had one. It caused a lot of anxiety, she was producing milk but not eating or drinking much. She made several nests for herself, then stole the kids stuffed animals to lay with. It was all really sad. She had to be put on doggy downers, and some type of diuretic to dry up the milk production. It went on and on… seems like it lasted close to a month, with treatment. So yeah, nothing to mess with. Spaying will prevent this! All our pets were spayed and neutered to prevent unwanted breeding! Most of our pets were strays or throw aways we don’t need to add to that!

I've said it before and now I'm going to say it again. All you need to do is get your hands on cora while she standing up standing over her put your hands on her belly and push upward towards you you'll feel babies if they're in there you'll feel them move if they're in there if you you think that it's been long enough that if she was pregnant for her to be about due to have the babies you obviously would see a great big Billy on her and you'd be able to feel and see puppies move. So if you haven't already go do some touching around on her belly.

I know how you feel about taking Kota to vet and her stress, I have two big dogs that are the same way but she needs to be checked by vet and if it is a false pregnancy it needs to be taken care of by a professional!!!! I love my dogs and don’t want to cause any undue stress for them but I will take their health as a priority!!!!!!

so I've caught up with loads of things - alpacas are popular here - especially with people who want to produce their own yarn - some people charge ridiculous amounts of money for hand knitted jumpers/sweaters with home produced yarn. Alpaca is considered by many to be warmer than sheep's wool. There's also a considerable amount of people who organise alpaca or llama walking...... Are you allowed to bring animals down to your lake land. Rachel could hack the 2miles there easily enough, then canter round your land there without all those rocks in her way and ride home - have a great time - or you'll have to clear her some riding land lol - she'd have a great time

Is it possible that Cora had her puppies and she has them hidden somewhere out in the wooded area? Also, if it is a fake pregnancy then she should be checked out by the vet because it could cause her problems and you would not want that. I am no expert on this but I have heard of different things that have happened to female guardian dogs who had fake pregnancies. Do what you think is best.

I would have a X-ray done to make sure she doesn’t have any in there, also I would be careful and not brush it off her first time moms sometimes don’t show signs other than nesting and temp change close to the birth time, I would also still have her checked out because there is something they can get from the paring and it can cause infection for both internal, it’s not always the case but it is from the pairing itself they get something from it mostly effects the females the most, that or she had a false pregnancy and is very depressed about it, I would wait 1-2 cycles to make sure she has proper heats after the false pregnancy if that is the case just to be sure she is ready when you decide you want puppies ❤

Check any brush piles in the pastures that Cora can get into and any hidden away areas that she could squeeze into or under. She’s not going to have those pups anywhere the goats can get to

Gestation is 58-63 days. And it depends when she actually ovulated. He may have bred her a day or so before ovulation. Gently squeeze a back nipple, if a sticky substance 19:22 comes out that is colostrum and means she is pregnant. Im not sure if a false pregnancy can produce colostrum. In 30 yrs of breeding I've never had that happen.
