Purely looking at TEST in isolation, i strongly Disagree, dhoni was no one in test cricket. Reasons:- 1. Pant has 6 centuries & he also has 4-5 scores when he got out in 90s 2. Pitches in Dhoni's era were much easier to bat, 500-600 runs were normal. 3. Invalid point that he batted at 7 so got less opportunities, Ashwin bats lower & has more centuries. Also india lost so many matches under him that means we got all out all those times, so he got batting. 4. Pant has not just centuries but already had so many great match winning or saving innings which dhoni couldn't do in his whole career. Pant is by far better wicketkeeper in Tests cricket then dhoni.

4th point galat hai, yes Pant has more impactful innings than Dhoni. But not to forget, India's luckiest escape at Lord's 2007.. Dhoni's 70 odd saved India from defeat.. he has saved from collapses like 8/4, 20/5 type etc.. so it's not like he never saved India. Obviously Pant has done even better in test, so Pant would be the best in test cricket.

Dhoni was great in One day cricket, average of 51. In Test, he had an average of 38 which is fine but not great. Pant on the other has been okayish in One day.. averaging 33.5 and great in Test where he averages 45. Pretty much similar to Yuvraj Singh and Ravindra Jadeja.. Yuvi good one day player but Jaddu better in Test.

MSD was a great one-day captain, but a mediocre test captain. He had a good run till the time Sachin, Dravid, Laxman, and Zaheer were there. After 2011, he had a horrible stint as a test captain. Lost 0-4 to Eng and Aus in 2011-12. And then lost at home to England in 2012. Thereafter, 1-3 to Eng in 2013. He hardly played any defining knock or scored a century in SENA. Pant on the other hand has already played some of the greatest test knocks. He has centuries in English, Aus and SA! Test is the supreme form of cricket and hardest for us if played in SENA. Pant has done wonders overseas, especially under pressure situations. So Dhoni was a great one-day keeper/captain, however, Pant is way ahead in terms of greatness! He is only 25 and I am sure he will excel in one day too.

Tum jitna bura sochte ho na utna bhi bura nhi h dhoni test mein. Uski century nhi h but he still has a better average than pant in England and new Zealand. Dhoni also has better test average than virat, sehwag, laxman in these two sena countries. Sehwag se toh south Africa mein bhi better test average h dhoni ki. But just because 100 nhi h toh log sochte hain ki kuch kiya hi nahi hai dhoni ne sena tests mein.
