@@heinrichskiesif your referring to Pstudio than this is all the game they worked on since the release of Persona 5. Persona 3 Dancing Persona 5 Dancing Persona Q2 Persona 5 Royal Persona 3 Reloaded. In addition to that several key staff members had to oversee project such as Persona 5 Strikers Persona 5 Tactica the Chinese mobile game the three remastered games. It should also be mentioned that the studio has expanded and hire many new workers who have to be trained along with P studio having to learn what they can do with unreal engine 4.

I first played P4 on the PS2 and went to a heck of a lot of trouble to find a second hand copy of P3, and only finally found 1 copy in a video rental which I was able 2 buy as an ex rental 2 days after I returned it because they were selling all their games.

They might have some rewriting to do for social links ( but they could take some elements from FEMC route for platonic level 9 and 10 events with the girls and for male team members, I think you should be able to choose if you want to date your female friends or not and you should have social links with male team members with Makoto I would be disappointed if that's not in the remake) and if they want to replace the Answer with a new epilogue, but it's still not as much work as writing the story for a whole game.

Yeah, the story is mostly written but working on setting it up for this system is also a good chance for the writing team to learn how it was broken down in comparison to P5, how to pace it since they already alluded to wanting its dungeons to be more similar to P5 so there’s more time for social events in game, clearly writing in some new social events (like the cooking scene with Yukari), so it’s not truly going to be a 1:1 reboot. They are trying to make it their own and likely experiment with some things while trying to stay true to the story. It can be a good way for the team to figure out what story they want to tell with P6 when the time comes.

Not to mention it takes a lot less time to remake a game that already has the story and assets fleshed out than it is to design a new game from the ground up. Sure, they probably are going to add things here and there, but the majority of everything they need is already there, it’s just a matter of updating and adding to existing content. Starting a brand new game requires you to design new characters, create an entire plot, create new dungeons, create new interactions and backgrounds for NPC’s/party members the player is to interact with, etc. it’s time consuming.

I’m pretty sure that P6 probably entered proper planning stages during development stages for P3R. A smaller concept and writing team to get ideas for P6 started before dedicating a team to it. But I guarantee that team is working on P6. But given Atlus’ usual development cycle it’ll probably be 2025 at the earliest. Maybe announced next year. Either way Atlus is sure to put a lot into it

@@losharikoved Innocent sun is the only game I see them remaking out of the original PS1 games actually, P1 is impossible to adapt to the modern formula and so is Eternal Punishment, Innocent Sin can stand on its own without persona 1, and its story is pretty much finished after just part 1, ET just unties loose ends to make a plot.

Yes, in fact there's a good chance the game is already deep in the development where they can show something, but decide to hold the announcement. The thing is since P3, Atlus never stops developing a new mainline game, and P6 might be already in pre-production not long after the release of P5 (original). It's only natural for them to split the development team depending on the project, and it's not like they can just disclose about its status like P3R, the game needs to be announced first.

I have to imagine over last year and this year, as P3R is being finished off, P6 is slowly but surely transitioning from pre-production to full production. Hell, it might already be in full production at this point, with alphas of the game locked in some safe in Atlus HQ. 😛

What I want y’all to understand is that game studios are always moving. By the time one game is finished, another has already been in development for at least a year or two, by the time that first game is released, that second game is ideally close to early internal beta testing, and a third one is already well into pre-production.

True Story: Many years ago when i used Reddit back in 2016, i made a P6 logo like that, and perhaps it inspired others to make it like it. (It was symbolism for the mascot to be an Owl due to the popularity of a Pokemon at the time called Decidueye.)

I have a feeling them choosing to remake Persona 3 is a way of seeing if fans want a more dark and gritty Persona game Persona 3 is really dark and it's summoning method is dark, a load of the story beats are dark so I feeling P6 might be a darker and grittier story then P4, all the way up to strikers (Soon Tactica) Sorta like testing the waters to see if they need to redo the story idea of P6 or continue with the dark story idea

I think P3RE is kind of a test to see if they are capable of making a Persona game in Unreal Engine. If they're successful, then they will definitely use Unreal for Persona 6 too.

Atlus themselves confirmed that Persona 6 was in development back in July 2021. Two whole years ago. It’s been almost 7 years since 5 released in Japan so surely we’ll be hearing something about it soon enough, as the leaker who correctly leaked Reload and Tactica said these two were leading up to Persona 6. But of course this could just be me “coping” as they say..
