What if your only version of the turtles is the very light cartoon green from the previous 4-pack? Those were only briefly mentioned in the review. I am debating getting these new VHS style figures because the color differences are so pronounced & I do in fact love the accessories. Your opinion might help.

8:03 The colours on the TiD set is more accurate to the cartoon. I mean I know the scheme changed here and there, but overall, the darker green skin and more vibrant shell on these aren't how they typically looked on the show. I wish they kept the front shell the same colour as the originals, and lightened up the skin tone. That would've definitely been the more accurate way to go...plus some new expressions, where we don't have to spend $210+ on the Punk set & samurai/space 2-pack.

This is clearly aimed at people like me who are late in the TMNT game and want the turtles but don’t wanna pay scalper price for the other set (Comic-Con 4 pack, 2 packs, TiF, etc) … as much as I will like them (cos I don’t have any others) I have to say objectively, it’s a somewhat average offering, limited hands, random accessories, no second head or expression option, etc… side note, I’m getting the baby turtles accessory pack so I’ll hit you up for the tiny vhs sleeves 👍🏽

Agreed that it's not a cash grab, though I will say the price sucks. NECA definitely has a "Turtle Tax" since the $150 four-packs aren't a great value to begin with and they clearly priced these individual releases as that divided by four (or close to it - congrats on saving two bucks). The lack of both eye options, at the bare minimum, is lame. This would have also been a great time to add double-jointed elbows, but I guess I should be happy they didn't because then I'd probably be buying these new ones. I do have a matte set of Turtles in Disguise, and comparing them to the Punk Turtles, the shade of green is still different. It also looks like the matte is far more consistent on these new ones as even my matte set has parts of the body that shine and parts that don't. Those who are getting these are almost certainly getting the best looking set of turtles NECA has made for this line, but the lack of display options for the heads is a killer. Made especially so since it looks like Space Adventure Donatello comes with angry eyes too.

These new turtles are really nice with the matte finish but not being able to change expressions is a downer👎 If someone gave me a choice between the TID set or all four of these new pizza club turtles , id have to go with TID, just for the fact that id be able to capture emotions with the different face accessories opposed to being stuck in one emotion with the pizza club turtles,… however… If they come out with a NEW set of turtles that have this matte finish and brighter shell color with☝️the different face emotion options, that would probably be the best set of all.

All of the expressions are swappable on these. They still come apart like the old ones and mix well with the Punk set and the Space/Samurai

I prefer the matte finish but do not like that cell shading has been abandoned. So many companies fumble with the cell shading of characters but NECA happened to do it right. Now they stop? Obviously a way for NECA to save $ - leave off some paint. But is this the new trend for the series? There was no cell shading on the turtle van either which was also disappointing. For me the cell shading is part of the charm of the NECA TMNT cartoon series.
