I too am a fan of the first 3 gen the most, that's why I made my own remodernized, more mature, harder take at gen1, and I'll work on gen2 and gen3 :)

How do the shiny odds work? Especially the dynamic probabilities I'm guessing safety net means they can't run or faint, but could be wrong

1/9000 with 0 badges, 1/8000 with 1, ..., 1/1000 with 8! More "spoilery" info are in the server ;) This said, the safety net means that you're guaranteed to get a shiny at least every 1500 encounters (unless I coded something wrong ahah). ALSO you can't run away from a shiny! :)

For the sprites, kudos are mostly to Sanqui's randomizer's artists! I did draw some of them myself, but they are not really shown in the video as they are "a secret" for later ;D And glad you like also the difficulty increase! I wanted to achieve an engaging but not frustrating challenge, and hope to have nailed it!

Very very hard! Pikachu is a piece of trash.

It's a shit game. Tried it for a few hours and it's just too difficult. Pikachu doesn't listen to you until it's happiness is high. It will fall asleep during battle, hurt itself, use other moves. First battle can't be won because of this. 2nd rival battle is insane as well because he has more high level Pokemon than normal. In order to beat him you have to grind a lot and don't trust Pikachu. In Brock's gym the first trainer has a Geodude and Onix just like a regular Brock. The 2nd has high level rock types and Brock a full team of 6 rock types. Mankey learns Low kick somewhere but it's accuracy has been lowered. Haven't seen Double Kick on Nidoran yet. And Pikachu learns Surf early on but because it doesn't listen it's almost impossible to beat Brock without spending an insane amount of time grinding. There is no balance in this game, you just have to keep grinding which makes it boring.

i know in the original yellow game that is how Pikachu would act as well. It was based on the anime where pikachu over time would like the trainer. I do agree the game is hard some may like the challenge others will not and that is okay :)

Well, "shit game" because it's difficult sounds like a bit of a harsh statement to me, to be honest ;) It IS a difficulty hack, afterall, and the "Extreme" in its name is there for a good reason! Pikachu's disobedience is there to emulate what Ash's Pikachu does in the anime: doesn't listen at the beginning, becomes broken later. If you don't have patience to raise it, very fair, just don't use it! Brock is too hard with early game encounters? If only I added a good Grass encounter near its Gym, and/or the game was more open-world! As Impulsive Trainer underlined, these is sort-of open world, so if you have a bad match-up vs a certain gym, just skip it and return later! I faced Brock as my 8th leader in my own playthrough. And as for the grinding, oh well, that's a Pokémon game after all. I may add an "Infinite Rare Candy" in a next version, otherwise... I just didn't change much from the original. You're totally still entitled to not like it, of course, but being so mean to it because it fulfills everything it promises, does sound weird to me!

There is a secret way how to make pikachus friendship go up pretty quickly if you google it for Pokémon yellow. Im not gonna give it away, but i wouldn’t dismiss the game as shit just cause it’s frustrating. Just think outside the box.
