Your videos are my favorite and believe it or not, got me through some hard times during 2019-2022 time frame. You also introduced me to a lot of the DFW trails. Even my wife who doesn't care about MTB says your videos has great filming, editing, and music. Please keep going, you have real talent with these videos.

Your videos are among the best. Really well filmed and edited. Yours and McTrail Riders videos capture the adventure and beauty of the riding experience.

Ooh, I didn't know that about McTrail Rider, I'll have to check his videos out!

vids are handy to some people that are planning to ride there because they will ride there regardless and handy for some people that are just researching future trips mebbe. whether vids are money-making is another matter, and whether you enjoy making them yet another. today's ride had nice scenery unlike where i live and was entertaining just to see the country even if i never make it out that way. after ride - protein bar or drink to make sure what you need is available. ice to prevent inflammation of joints if needed, warm to promote circulation to muscles. dont overdo either one. massage, then next day recovery ride - warm up for 10-15min very easy pace then spin some higher rpms,, varying 80-100 at low watts for 20-40 min to help move the old stiffness out and let in the new nutrient. the mental attitude is taking responsibility for recovery, taking action, and figuring out what is working for you instead of waiting in the back seat wondering what's next

I'm with this guy. I watch still to see trails that ive never been to and see if ti is someplace to put on the list. I do think that by and large, POV isn't what it was a couple of years ago with regards to how many people are doing. A few years ago, there were tons of channels that were active. Now they are much fewer.
@huntstyle6 ай бұрын
Ah, yes, a recovery ride on the canyon rim might be the ticket for me!
@huntstyle6 ай бұрын
Interesting, I didn't know there were less channels now vs a few years ago. I imagine some people started with big dreams and when their channels didn't really grow, they threw in the towel. Or just got burned out. I can definitely relate to that. Life also happens, and not everyone is able to continue to devote the time to filming and editing videos.

Also still enjoy your POV videos... also started my MTB journey living in Austin, now live in Boise, and work in the healthcare industry - so I appreciate your videos - especially the Idaho trails (Moab/Fruita stuff was great too since I love riding those places as well).
@huntstyle6 ай бұрын
Oh no kidding? You make it to Sun Valley often?
@BikeandSkiGeoff6 ай бұрын
@@huntstyle Not as often as I’d like to. Maybe once a year. Ride local and McCall most of time as well as a couple of trips to Bend every summer.
@aygwytes77366 ай бұрын
regarding POV: i usually only watch mtb vids of local-ish trails (i'm in boise), or a trail i hope to ride. or i watch them in the winter to get some stoke going.
@huntstyle6 ай бұрын
That's what I think a lot of people do. Which explains why my vids from Dallas got so many views, because those trails aren't really that great, but millions live in Dallas and a lot of them ride bikes!

POV is not dead! Would Love to see more rides in different parts of Idaho
@huntstyle6 ай бұрын
Right on! I am planning to explore some trails I still haven't ridden yet. Some may turn out to be in poor shape because they don't see much traffic, but that should add to the adventure!
@mikeskiest78176 ай бұрын
I still enjoy the POV stuff, not sure if its dead. There are so many trails out there at haven't been seen also. I also like seeing how people ride and what lines they take.
@huntstyle6 ай бұрын
The POV vids that have always done the best for me are the newly built trails. Gets search traffic, versus lesser known trails like this one, nobody is searching for.
@mikeskiest78176 ай бұрын
True, but me personally, I still like them and still watch them from different youtubers.

POV of a rider with skills near your own is the best way to get some trail recon in for destinations that you’ve never been to. I consume loads of POV for places that I think I want to visit. My usual road-tripping approach is basically a Nate Hills tour but I’m looking for videos like yours to get a real sense of what it will be like.
@huntstyle6 ай бұрын
Yeah, I do watch POV for that, and watching Nate Hills I have to remember that I won't be riding it nearly as fast, lol.
@jimboTX6 ай бұрын
I'm in that group of POV ain't dead. Especially if they check certain boxes like the name of the lines they rode, where they parked, I like when the creator shares the line they took to the top, and bonus is lodging and foodie stuff so I can shove that part in the wifey's face and say look lets go here 😂. All stuff I know I can Google on my own and read. I've always preferred movies to reading. 😆 Your POVs check the boxes for me. There's something relatable about them too. Doesn't have the vibe of following you on the adventure. Has the vibe of went with you on the adventure. 🍻 🤙
@huntstyle6 ай бұрын
Oh man, that's great to hear! That's really the vibe I'm going for, like bring the viewer with me. See what I see in the area, not just the riding. I'll keep that in mind about the wife part. Maybe I can help more guys get to these destinations by convincing their wives, lol!

possibly try creatine (HMB) for muscle recovery. This works very well with me for lift training sessions.

You make great interesting videos. Love the focus on nature. Keep it up!
@huntstyle6 ай бұрын
Thank you! Being out in nature is really one of my favorite parts of mountain biking. Perhaps that is my niche, versus some who are just all about "sending it."
@jordanrhodes6 ай бұрын
@@huntstyle I like how you pan on flowers. And mountain ranges. I think it makes it interesting. And it breaks up the monotonous aspect of just watching Point of view . So personally, I like the videos. And I think you’re on the right track.

I think the 360 video is the future of MTB POV. The Insta360 X4 looks amazing, and GoPro will at some point launch their Max 2. The wider view more properly demonstrates the badassery and speed of MTB, while also offering more options of angles.
@huntstyle6 ай бұрын
I'm anxiously awaiting to see what the Max 2 will be like! I have the first Max, but admittedly barely use it anymore. I still find the quality of the Hero to be much greater than the new Insta360, even with the higher resolution.

Hey Matt, I don't think POV is dead, at least not for me. It's still my number one source for checking out new trails and areas. So probably I tend to more look for "trailcheck" videos these days, but all in all I still enjoy POV. Definitely more than pure vlogging content. I usually don't watch youtube for entertainment but rather use it as my main source of information. It was nice to know that BKXC was building a van ... but, since I didn't plan to do that, it made me tune out rather than keep watching. But I'm of course not representative 😉
@huntstyle6 ай бұрын
I'm on KZbin primarily for entertainment, but it is nice that whenever I need info like how to fix something on my car, I can be assured someone probably made a video on how to do it!
@BlazingTonic20096 ай бұрын
The MTB space on KZbin is so competitive now, and I think most of the people still getting consistent views are some of the originals from 6+ years ago (bkxc, singletrack sampler). I like these guys, but I don't care how good your content is. It's pretty impossible nowadays to do the same thing they are and have great success with it. Your videos are just as good from a production standpoint, so I'll definitely keep watching them if that means anything.
@huntstyle6 ай бұрын
Yeah, like with a lot of things, you benefit from being one of the first. Otherwise, you really have to bring something unique to stand out.
