“For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. If believe doesn't have anything to do with our salvation, then Eph 2 should just read, by grace you are saved. The Holy Spirit has added "through faith".

Nobody can do great wonders in the name of Jesus without faith and you still have Jesus saying in Matthew 7: 21-23 that He would still tell those people to go away and that He never knew them. Stop elevating Paul's opinion above what Jesus said and don't ignore the books that was rejected from the Bible by 4th century church leaders. Jesus explained in the book 'Pistis Sophia' how this world works and what we need to do to be saved.

@@TinusPheiffer "Paul's opinion". Is this Paul's opinion also "2 Timothy 3:16 ESV "All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness". Notice the "all" in that passage? If you believe that passage then you need to believe its not Paul's opinion, its the word of God.

@@TinusPheiffer when was this Pistis Sophia book written?
@TinusPheiffer21 сағат бұрын
@Desaura Did you look at Matthew 7:21-23? I guess not. The story of Paul is that he was approached by Jesus while he was in the process of persecuting christians. If you believe that, then you are calling Jesus a liar because He said that whoever disown Him in front of others He would also disown in front of the Father. The book 'Pistis Sophia' are in the British library since 1785. Scholars place its origin in the 3rd/4th century, but Jesus are quoted in it 28 times where He mentions the expansion of the universe which was only discovered by Edwin Hubble in 1929. So take your head out of the sand or Bible and open your eyes.

Predestination and election are words that God uses concerning His own viewpoint.Simple. Once we come to Christ thru repentance we are saved. God is outside of time. He knew from before the foundations of the world who would be saved. To Him we are predestined due to His foreknowledge. We have no such understanding. We must obey and be faithful to obtain eternal Life.

@@kurtweiand7086 The grace of God is God's Riches At Christ's Expense. Grace is the gift of Jesus paying our penalty on our behalf at the cross. That work of God has to be then imputed to us. There are not works but conditions to receive that grace: Hear the Gospel, Believe the Gospel, Put your trust in Jesus' death and resurrection, Repent from sin, be Immersed calling upon the name of the Lord. Read Colossians 2:12-16! God does all the work. These conditions are our submission to God to enable Him to impute His work to us. If we refuse these conditions, we refuse His grace.

When someone sounds authoritative and so sure of himself that he believes everything he teaches is God's perfect Will, run from these egomaniacs as fast as you can and trust the Holy Spirit to teach you and lead into ALL TRUTH, John 16:13 & 1 John 2:27. Stop listening to men.

So you think that I should stop listening to men? How about I start with you? Do you not realize how really stupid your comment is? So when you need the expertise of an engineer or a neurosurgeon or a Chinese language interpreter (or a short order cook for that matter) what are you going to do? Rely solely upon the Holy Spirit of God to bring you those truths apart from the education and ability of other people? Is that the ALL TRUTH you were talking about? You think all trained and competent speakers are egomaniacs who think that what they are teaching is the perfect will of God? Why don't you, instead of writing anything more, go spend a twenty hours listening to Dr. Sproul? I would say that if that doesn't change your opinion, nothing will.

Sproul is completely wrong on Romans 9! There Paul addresses the fact that he has "great sorrow and unceasing pain in my heart" because his fellow Jews will not have faith in Jesus to be saved. Paul answers an assumed question: Shouldn't God save the Jews who WERE His chosen people? The answer is NO because they were not chosen for salvation, but chosen for SERVICE! This is point Sproul cannot see. All these men in the Old Testament are chosen for service! God is not under any obligation to save them! Why? Because to be chosen for salvation, one must have faith in His Son the Lord Jesus Christ. It does not matter to what race you belong! Paul explains there are TWO Israels! The Old Testament one was chosen for service! The New Testament one is chosen BASED ON SOMETHING! What is that? FAITH IN JESUS CHRIST. Regardless of the advantage of being a Jew, if you do not have faith, you are broken off! And, if you are a believing Gentile who FALLS AWAY from faith, you will be broken off as well! So much for the doctrine of perseverance! 10:12-13, "For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek: for the same Lord is Lord of all, and is rich unto all that call upon Him: for, Whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." There's a new Israel in town--composed of those with faith regardless of race. This Israel are those who call upon the name of the Lord. There is now no difference between races. Romans 9 through 11 is all about the condition of God's grace. There is a basis for election! God chooses the ones who have faith! You make the choice to believe and repent or not! 10: 21 "But as to Israel He saith, All the day long did I spread out My hands unto a disobedient and gainsaying people." God WANTED to save the Jews. That was His will. But they did not want to be saved! They disobeyed! They spoke against Christ! They have a choice! God gave them the opportunity. God gave them His Son! John 1:11-12, "He came unto His own, and they that were His own received Him not. But as many as received Him, to them gave He the right to become children of God, even to them that believe on His name." There is no mystery here how God saves. There is a condition! It is His Son! The choice is to receive Him or not! The choice is to believe on His name or not! God's election is conditional based on our response to the Gospel. It is to be obeyed. Grace is a gift! But faith is the means to receive the gift and to have faith is a choice!

This is misinformation. Predestination is the destination God has predestined His people not that He predestinated those who will believe. Eph 1:4 It is not complicated unless your reformed. A plain reading of the chapter puts it all in context.

It is a choice! Mt 7:13-14, "Enter ye in by the narrow gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many are they that enter in thereby. For narrow is the gate, and straitened the way, that leadeth unto life, and few are they that find it." Here God gives a command to be obeyed! We have a choice to make. God never asks us to do something that we cannot do! God is not a liar that He would give us an opportunity to be able to take and He never endowed us with the ability to choose it or refuse it. The Bible is all about the choices of man and God's response. It is all about the commands of God and the freewill response of man!

Honestly, when I get to heaven I honestly want to ask God if I can have a different life or since God knows every possibility every scenario Every what if of a person's life in every generation Because guess what God knows everything That includes every Life and choice a person can Make in Every generation even if they were born in a different one, and I think if I ever got that, I could spend thousands of years and spend time Living every life I could have ever had with every choice To be honest, that's my most intriguing thought with my autistic mind because of my obsession with detail and wanting to know everything and possibility, and that's why I believe in free will as well And frankly, I cannot tell you how many times I told God in the past for many years i lost count How I told him I Don't Want to be here and I want nothing To do with this generation And frankly, that's why I can never thank him for my life Because I never wanted it I can thank him for many other things and people, but just not that really And my third reason why I may want to live so many different lives well, there is wisdom and knowledge in living for so long or those many lives

Jesus also explains how reincarnation works,

What if you buy yourself a journal and write stories for yourself about those lives? I feel like sometimes an idea sounds appealing, but there are costs to it that we just don't realize. I don't think it would be good for you to have that wish granted. But if you just use your imagination, you could have some of the benefit, without the downsides of a wish like that. Books and movies can be wonderful things.
