is Prismatic Evolutions the most OVERHYPED set?

It's genuinely so sad pokemon card collecting has come to this, i miss the times where you could just find the newest set and buy it, go to your house and just relax opening cards and putting them in your binder, now its all "go invest in this set!" "get this thing before scalpers get to it!" its so annoying seeing people jump blindly at the idea of a set being worth triple its release value while not even caring about the cards or even pokemon itself just because it has a popular on the front like charizard or eevee. Theres so much cool stuff i would've bought like the eevee pouch but now thats being gatekept by a 80 dollar price tag for only like 4 packs, ive wanted to collect a special set for a while now but the last few once are just not worth it/ have too many rare cards. i would mention a lot more stuff but i dont want to turn this into even more of an essay than it already is

its pretty cringe aye, especially if you look at scalper-targeted content on youtube. that said, trends like this never last so just wait it out. just needs a good market crash and that will solve 90% of the problem.

Hope the set has more to offer. Started collecting again because of you and wanted to pre-order prismatic evolutions. I can still buy the binder+5 packs box. But i am still waiting for the bundles to be back in stock again.

I was very hyped about the new serie, after seing the main cards of the series i am as disapointed as you are. they completly lack something. Those cards tell nothing. I would apprecate if The pokemon company use cards to tell story, through artstyle, scenarios etc... something like Latios and Latis from the last serie. It should've been the perfect set to have some more connected cards

Nah. I think you are wrong. This set is much better than Surging sparks. And… look at surging sparks price! This hype is well deserved. I actually think Sunbreon is going to beat Moonbreon…

I could very well be wrong, in terms of value this set is going to go even crazier than SS. But I feel like the revealed art and the lack of even 1 IR is really weird and lackluster.
