That russian pokedex is absolutely bonkers, and you can't tell me the dad who wrote it wasn't drunk off his ass. Even if he understood nothing about Pokemon, theyre clearly just magical animals. Why did he choose to make it seem like Pokémon are people with jobs and political agendas and stuff like that?

Because you gotta remember, he didn’t speak the language at all. All he saw was drawings and maybe a few bits from the anime but that’s it. And what he saw was they acted differently and lived in a world with humans and responded to what humans said. So it’s not too hard to imagine some dude going a bit too far when creating his own Pokédex.

The pokedex book gives them so much more character and background that I would've enjoyed in the games, now that we aren't working with limited cartridge space anymore. Also something about alpharad makes me think he'd be a good storybook reader

They just use it as a key and put minimal data on it so they can use the cheapest cartridge. Not really related but just sayin size isn't much of an issue 😉
