Is PROGRESSIVE INSURANCE'S Snapshot Program A SCAM??

I had the same issues. I was able to switch over to the ODB dongle you plug into your dash and no longer used the App. A bonus is the ODB unit doesn’t ding you for picking up your phone or using it while driving.

im currently using the plugin device since i drive a truck at work. Glad for that option because i would have been big time SOL and my truck already monitors my driving so its nothing im not use to. 1 silly harsh brake so far from idk what to be honest but 2 weeks in with no real issues.

When I had this electronic Tattletale I saw it dinging me for (sudden braking) when I was driving. The fact is tat I NEVER sudden brake - I leave plenty of room between myself and other vehicles. Snapshot is so sensitive that if you even THINK of raking, you will get dinged.

People used to and probably still joke about the saying, "Big brother is watching". Decades old as it is, I'm pretty sure it was always in reference to Government. Who'd have thought that now it's the insurance companies too?

Dan, we had this insurance and we add the snapshot device to my husband truck. They said it would reduce our premium. No it did not. We got rid of progressive insurance. I don’t care for them.

If you think about how does this work say you're married and you and your wife both have this on your each car and then you're driving together but one person's work in the phone and the other person is driving

With the progressive snapshot app, anytime you’re just a passenger of your friends car and THEY are doing the driving, you get an “EVENT” recorded in YOUR app. Really a bad product to use!

It's a scam, just gives them reasons to raise your rates more. I'd never allow insurance company on my phone. Don't do it, unless you're expert and can use burner phone and only use the app on that phone and leave it at home.

I have erie and they are dirt cheap but they don't wont to fix Nothing I got a lot of hail damage they said my house was like that already bull crap but their so cheap I really can't afford anyone else

Does this actually work? I'm about to buy 6 months of insurance with the Snapshot app discount, but I don't actually want to use the app. I put KZbin videos on my phone when driving (Just listening to them of course) but I know the app will think I am on my phone.
