Every time I can our home grown purple hull peas, they turn out mushy...is there a trick to get them not to fall apart?
@HomeInTheSticks29 күн бұрын
Thank ya for watching and commenting mam, welcome to the channel!! Are you blanching your peas prior to pressure canning them? The time the jars sit in the pressure canner (PC) can cause mushy peas, I've also heard that canning peas in a jar bigger than a quart size jar could cause mushy peas. This is all subjective as I always PC my peas the day of harvest, I will say my peas come out soft when I eventually eat them but not mushy. Maybe someone else will chime in on this one..........Dan

“I want to support it to where the cantaloupe can roll off this vine naturally and not by weight just snapping the vine” Ok but isn’t the weight snapping the vine literally the most natural way for the fruit to detach? Like the only natural ways would be exactly that or some kind of predator ripping it off the vine
@HomeInTheSticksАй бұрын
Yes, when a fully grown cantaloupe is ready it will snap off the vine naturally, BUT I've had several large melons that were green and snapped the vine prior to maturing on the vine, that's what I'm trying to prevent. Thank ya for commenting!! Dan
