There are some tracks (excluding the songs already released as singles) that "hit" at the first listen. It was "Falling forever" and "These walls" for me. The vibe of "End of an era" also caught my attention at first listen. I hope for a release with additional tracks. I believe that's possible, as the "standard" edition has "only" 11 tracks which together last less than 40 minutes (seemingly to "FN" album). So there's plenty of space for bonus tracks :-)

The album rollout was messy, Houdini in November, no album announcement until April. No promo for that single, leaning into Oscar campaigning instead. It was all a bit fractured, but also hampered by mitigating factors such as the original video and concept for Training Season being pulled so they then had to pivot. However the album has manged to pull great numbers and either stabilised or increased from original projections as in the US, for a career peak and highest first week sales. She has Glastonbury and I trust in her to make a long campaign. Do I think it will be as big as FN, no, but that was lightning in a bottle, do I think this solidifies her as a big game player with career longevity, yes.

I think yall are all a tad bit dense. Back then people didn’t care about all this, “streams, and rollouts” bs. They only listened to and bought their favorite artists music and shutted up, if nobody liked the album, they didn’t go online ranting about it to make the artist feel shamed. As a true Dua Lipa fan, I LOVE the album. Never complained, didn’t care how long it took…Nor do I think her songs sound the same from FN. But OBVIOUSLY it’s a genre and a SOUND Dua made her own, ofc it’s gonna have the same elements, it’s DISCO. What were yall expecting? But call this her “flop” era or whatever yall say, is insane, because artistically and vocally this is her best album.

You're missing a big point here: the album is not what was marketed and anticipated by Dua HERSELF. Of course we were all disappointed
@milly72022 күн бұрын
@@lorenzomerotto7207 So? Why do yall put SO music faith into artists? They change everyday. We got a new album, that’s all that matters. I’m not disappointed. Dua hasn’t lost a fan, I’m an even bigger fan now.

💯 This album is so damn good. Carefully curated to 11 cohesive conceptual tracks loaded with superb vocals, infectious hooks, and immaculate electropop production. It’s a total summer sonic vibe!! She knows exactly what she’s doing.

It's such a great album. Training Season is my favourite song from the album. Illusion is also fantastic.

The rollout was messy and dua didn’t do herself no service by saying it was gonna be a complete departure from future nostalgia as a whole I like radical optimism I like that dua’s personality is more present in the songwriting but the songs aren’t strong enough and as you stated it’s not cohesive enough, I wish if she was gonna go the femme fetale persona she should’ve gone darker with it I thought with her newsletter company and how she expand her mind to different topics and subject matters, she could’ve applied it to, be more introspective instead of vague the album reminds me of Doja cat’s Scarlett album where it seems like everything is presented in the aesthetic and the ideas are there but the executions for the album didn’t go full out Favorite tracks: Falling forever Whatcha doing Training season Houndini End of an era

Bottom line, most consuners dont know or care about "consistency" in imagery and cover art and the roll out of an album. Songs will do well if the songs are good because that is what most consumers care about. If her album isnt doing well, its not because of anything mentioned in this video- this is for ppl very interested in the music industry. The songs of RO are simply not as good as the songs from FN, which is okay. Her future albums might be incredible

Promotion matters too and the promotion was messy like how she barely performed Houdini during its release and how she performed Training Season early but didn’t release it until much later. Also she said she would do psychedelic, but it’s barely anything like that. If you don’t promote your songs well, then public will lose interest. Also not helping is she dropped during a historic rap beef. This combined with the songs being mid overall sets the stage for a flop era.

Seems like the people who are liking the album (such as myself) and who prefer it to the earlier stuff are musician folk and people who are into bands, not pop. And putting the main singles aside, what Dua has created here is a band, whether she realises it or not. To my band/musician ears, this actually feels _very_ cohesive, and more so than her earlier work. But I imagine if I were a Miley Swift Britney fan I would be expecting something quite different.

Stop being an hater Its a calm album for the summer that lives up to its name since it acts as therapy. the album worked less well than future nostalgia but the dates are exactly the same (don’t start was also released in November / physical also in February etc…) She totally respect the them of seeing the positivity in each situation and the instrumental is crazy

This album is a flop because compared to the rhythm of every catchy song from FN and even DL1, Radical Optimism doesn't have any catchy beats and the songs are boring. CHARTS... SMFH 🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️
