Great video as per! Everything about this era was executed exceptionally well, her commitment to this era, the visuals, the sound, the cohesion really set Dua Lipa apart. Especially given that she had to adapt to lockdown and couldn't do traditional promotion or tour for so long. This record was like the perfect escape from all the drama in the world at the time though, like she wasn't going to let a pandemic stop her and that really gained my respect of due as an artist. Physical was my most listened to song that year, the synth production is unworldly and flawless.

@@guinessbeer from what I remember (this might just have been speculation though) the reason why the version with the feature wasn't released because Normani's team didn't want her comeback to be a feature, which I get in principle but I feel like they really fumbled the bag. Great video as usual! "Future Nostalgia" is everything you could hope for a good pop album era. And as for Dua Lipa's next era... I think people need to stop with the "flop" accusations. All of the singles have been doing consistently well; even Dua herself has noted that a lot of her songs end up becoming sleeper hits and she says she prefers that over having songs quickly blow up and then disappear quickly. I can see why some don't like them compared to "Future Nostalgia" but I enjoy them; I can't wait to hear how they will come together when the album drops. I can't also wait for more promotional performances and music reviews. And even if she doesn't conquer the US again, she still does very well in other markers such as Europe, Asia and Latin America. All this to say is... people need to chill and let the era just happen lol

Funny you should mention the selling tour tickets before the album even drops thing because a fellow creator that you actually share a first name with just did that. German (but mostly English speaking) content creator and singer Naomi Jon announced a tour for this year for an album that has yet to even be announced. I still bought a ticket because I’ve been to one of her shows last year already and the vibes were very on point. She’s a lot of fun and so is her audience. Also the tickets are affordable enough for me to take the gamble. But in general I agree that it’s not an ideal strategy.

I think FN era feels bigger than RO bc of how much it is a step up from debut. RO has amazing singles, especially the first two. I also think the award show performances are much better for RO than FN. Also, Music Videos are... not as amazing as in FN era. Houdini has amazing parts like towards the ending but i wish they still did the planned explodions tho. Training Season needed more sets and scenes. Illusion is a great one tho. WHERE DO I BEGIN FOR FUTURE NOSTALGIA okay so it’s 2019, before Dua dropped don’t start now she was sort of dabbing around, but I remember there was wonder when she would start her era.. Instant fall in love with don’t start now, it at times reminds me of 2019 for some reason 🤔 not sure why… Physical instantly takes me to 2020, I had personal life problems so the era of FN takes me to that time because it helped me get through.. she had quite a few tracks that made it globally, levitating helped seal her household name, hallucinate was a good little fun in between to be a 4th track I’ll always love that album cover for it, something bout it She really did do a good overhaul, and with that covid nonsense going on. Her Nicki re-up the moonlight edition was just the icing on the cake for future nostalgia to the end of 2021, start of 2022 really showed the longevity of FUTURE NOSTALGIA. Go dua give us something 🩷💅🏽

I still need to check myself to see if I'm tripping or not when I see that 2020 was 4 years ago. How??? Imo Dua took way too long making her new album, from what I've seen the hype just isn't there for this era like it was for FN, back in 2020 FN days I remember everyone being so excited to see what Dua was going to do next, but this era, not so much. While some of the singles are catchy like Houdini and Training Season (not sure about Illusion yet) they aren't sticking as well as FN singles. I feel like if she had this era in 2022, it would be a lot more successful, not to say it's flopping by any means, but compared to FN, idk it just feels like the energy isn't the same. 4 years is a long time for people to wait Reply if you disagree.
@naomi.cannibal8 ай бұрын
Right… feels like 2 years at most. I was thinking she took a while too but it makes sense if FN era didn’t really “end” until late 2022. Realeasing in 2024 makes sense w that, and also in general 4 years isn’t toooo long of a time to wait for albums, I think it’s just becoming less of a norm now bc artists wanna keep people’s attention. I can get not liking the singles (I like them) but I don’t think that has much to do w the timing itself
