i love watching these videos so much, just like a lot of people i don’t have many friends to share most of my dolls with and i love just putting you guys on in the background and customise my dolls, its always so fun to see each others different looks on dolls and new ones! also the fact you guys all love things just like me like drag race, trisha, sugar n spice, 😭 makes me so happy to listen and enjoy the podcast! 💗💗 also i got rupaul and she literally changed my life she’s so beautiful in person !

I think that rainbow high was not built on a sustainable model. When it first came out, LOL and OMG work at their peak of popularity. So MGA had a decent budget to put into a new doll line. Rainbow High came out and it very much felt like they were trying to make it a response to doll fans criticisms, so they gave us articulation, they gave us good hair, they gave us good fashions (and a whole second outfit), and they did it for not that much more expensive than the average doll that was out at the time. It was also at a time where we were going through kind of a drought when it came to dolls, and we were all so thirsty that we bought them up and they became popular really fast. So even though they were offering these dolls that were more expensive to produce, they were selling enough to make it worth it. But then after a couple of years, all doll lines experience a drop in interest from the public, but I think it hit rainbow high a little harder because they were underpriced from the beginning, and when they weren't selling as much it hit them a little harder so they really had to cut back really quickly (i.e. only one outfit, going back to the slime gimmick, less articulation, budget dolls, etc...). People loved to compare rainbow high to other doll lines like Barbie and Monster High because of the difference in quality versus price etc, but really, I think some of the other doll lines that have been around are a little bit more sustainable. Obviously, no doll line is immune to bad sales, but companies try to make their doll lines as "evergreen" as they can because they want to keep making money off of it. I guess Rainbow High just wasn't profitable enough for how they were doing things... Another thing to consider is that doll lines like Monster High have dolls or figures in other mediums as well, for example they did a partnership with megabloks, they also had the blind box minis as well as the plushies. Barbie is doing it with the mini Barbie land. The Rainbow High Littles might be something similar and we will still get regular dolls as well? They're just another option on the shelf, not necessarily replacing what people like about Rainbow High completely. Who knows... What I would give to be a fly on the wall in those meetings where these decisions are made. 👀

I think RH weren't selling as well as MGA wanted. I got this impression because they would always go real cheap. The most i ever spent is The Storm Twins for $26.

The Rupaul doll is awesome, but I'm not getting it. I would have if the doll was more monster/dragon like. Rainbow High is breaking my heart. It's the first modern doll line I collected.

I got creative with 4 random characters in Monster High G3, it's Twyla from Neon Frights line then Ghoulia from that line as well then I did core Abbey, changed the hair and gave it painted details, then I gave the Clawdeen from the target 2 pack a full on makeover, that would be my out of the box. I am interested in seeing what Chloe does with G3 Catty, I still want 2 dolls of her but it's been a bit of struggle trying to get her, she's on selling out where I live but hope to get her so I can customize her.

This Rainbow High doll has me worried and confused. I thought Jr High was their younger doll line, now these little sister dolls look like they are trying to compete with Chelsea dolls or something. Not a huge fan. Nice hair though. I'd love to know what goes on behind the scenes at MGA and why they make these decisions.

I mean, not an expert or something, but for my perspective, RH only appeal to young/adult collectors, meaning, people would buy them? Yes, but in what pace? All influencers that i know would only get them on sale, and why they where on sale? Because that was a lot of dolls, a lot in the stores, and also if u look outside the RH bubble, you dont see other collectors buying them especially outside de US and some Europe country, i mean i live in Brasil and i still see series 1 RH in the stores, just like mermaze mermaid, and i know people in other countries that see the same, and is bad people didnt buy them, and is iven worse if u compare it with MH or LOL OMG like those? U cant find them in stores right now like none! Right know the stores here are angry with Mattel for not suplying them with more dolls....and not that anyone asked, but Barbie also sells amazing here iven the ones that u gurls dont like 😅

Rainbow High was a delight...bought always the nicest ones...just now I treat myself with those they are my second choice...in Germany we are not getting those super cheap prices...so I'm still collecting and now after the decline I'm more appreciating the high quality of each doll...its sooo sad and the new releases of other lines are not as satisfying to me...😢

Really wish dream besties went with a more monster head sculpt vs eah. Those bobble head flat sculpts are an instant no for me. I’d kill for some human mh like dolls though, and released like Barbie as in just random dolls as opposed to characters, pllssssss. I can never get into a line that doesn’t have articulation (preferably similar to mtm) and boys, hopefully one day.

Another Rainbow High Thing I'm disappointed in is that it's just... the main girls. Again. Like, no. We had Lilith in rainbow world. We have an actual little character. And you're selling us Skyler... again? And another pet? Where are these pets and dolls selling. I mean, for real, the last Skyler I brought was Runway Skyler. Is there a secret baby Skyler collector club or something? I was excited for little dolls with inset eyes and neat little clothes. The RH slime dolls have not even made it into most shops in Australia. And you're telling me these minis will help? They're insulting. That's what they are.

I mean majority of collectors on YT arent big RH fans in general they're mainly MH fans, some have admitted to buying RH because nothing else beforehand was around (same with OMG) but now that MH came back the energy has shifted alot. That said just cause a brand is making off shoot lines for kids only doesn't mean a brand is dying as a whole. Collectors gotta remember we are not the only ones buying these toys kids also have to be considered. They can't survive just off our dime, especially in this current inflation and lastly people said OMG was dying and look dropped two series 9 dolls so RH will be fine I think
