Is Rank 14 Worth It? Classic WoW

I'm back after taking a 3 month absence to grind out rank 14 in the Classic WoW PvP System. So, is it worth it?

Well it is pretty easy to farm random players with your full premade... This is one of the downsides of WoW-pvp. There is no options for people to queue in pvp as a "single player". And in Classic it is probably was the worst because to get those ranks people actually had to farm kills as much and as efficient as possible. I am glad that since the next expansion (Burning Crusade) Blizzard got rid of this stupid system and introduced arenas...

@@Rodionnx That is what annoys me A LOT about PVP. You can be playing against randoms and really enjoying the game (win or loss), then suddenly a premade joins in and the next dozen games are all terrible loss after loss after loss... and I don't mind losing, but losing to a premade is extremely unfair an annoying. Once I ran into too many of them, I just didn't bother with PVP anymore and have since quit playing the game, at least until the next expansion anyhow.

The speed you rank up isn't dependant on how much you win or how much honor you get, necessarily. It's how much you get in comparison to everyone else on your faction on your server. You're also limited because you only get so many rank points per week depending on where you fall in the overall honor amounts of everyone during that week, so even if you got #1 honor every week, it would still take several months to get to rank 14.

I played on Silvermoon back in Classic WoW in 2006 where I hit GM rank on my Warrior. Horde was incredibly dominant and had instant que timers while us Alliance has to wait nearly an hour per game. Definitely don't miss that. This allowed them to really get in sync with one another and basically dominate every game; not to even mention the fact that they were already excellent players. For me, the best feeling that came out of that insanely long, tiresome, boring grind was the day my premade beat theirs. It only happened once, maybe twice, but it felt absolutely incredible. It was like walking up an extremely steep slope and finally managing to walk over that massive hill despite your ankles trying to completely buckle under the pressure. That moment we won felt better than the day I hit rank 14 and asked a friend to loan me a couple hundred gold to buy my weapons, as I was completely tapped from the grind. Was it worth it? Absolutely not. But I'd be lying if I said I didn't make some incredible memories along the way. Looks like you did too.
