You're doing a look back yes the server issues were caused by streamers not just the fans. Aspen gold encouraged his fans in his super duper mega Guild to just ninja steel everything that they can.

Turtle WoW is a clear example, they have 5-10k active players on their oldest server.. Its been 4-6 years (I forget) and people are still doing it since they keep adding new content/raids/dungeons/quests/zones and stuff to do.

Very simple reason why MMORPGs have gotten worse after WoW came out : - Open world to instanced world - Easy gameplay to Hardcore stuff - Slaying to level up to side quests for level up Enhanced even further by newly MMORPGs: - From clear class roles to roughly the same class roles (aka everyone is a damage dealer) - From half turnbased to full action gameplay (e.g. automated dodge to manual dodge) - From multiplayer focus to single player focus All of these takes the social aspect away. Doing too much in gameplay, and you won't have time to chat. Side quests are essential solo player things, while grind in group of monsters usually is more efficient in groups. Instanced world with hardcore gameplay means a lot of stuff are locked behind the gates for a part of the community (including the ones that simply doesn't have that much time at hand). Full action gameplay make things even more fast paced = less time to chat. Single player focus means you skip communication all together. In conclusion, MMORPGs are simply single player RPGs with a small online ladder nowdays. They are not, like in the beginning, a virtual world where the main goal was to meet and play with other people online across the globe. Thus, the magic is no longer there.

I joined a guild during Cataclysm because i saved the group in dungeons with one of their main ppl a few times. Ended up getting invited to Firelands raid when it launched as a disc priest 3rd healer. By the end of it I was main healer/tank healer. I used a fkin Leap of Faith to save our main tank when or 2nd died and was getting rezzed on our first kill of Ragnaros. I havent played since right before Pandaria came our, but the itch has been growing for quite awhile.

I almost passed out i laughed so hard at that alex jones impersonation. Christ that was so good.

lol even if they did add rank 15 no one and I mean no one would ever get it. Their math was not even close to mathing out for that rank grind the bs you had to do the toxic tricks to get ahead to even get rank 14 was a pain and that work could be over waking up the next morning after people lied to stay up and push their rank more. With the mind set of players had they added rank 15 I don't even think people would get rank 14 because so many would be trolling or messing it up for everyone.

biggest myth of my life came from some lying ass dev back in beta running around telling rogues they'll be able to take the look of the other race and talk to them like a spy. I was so ready to roll up to SW or ORG with that on make friends with a low level then take them to a place where pvp is on and turn my look off and kill them. But when the game came out it was no where to be found then you heard the news it got removed because blizz wanted something that feels more like a rogue so we got dusty ass lockpicking. I think they ended up half ass adding it to MoP but it wasn't anything like the devs where saying. I learned that day to never get hyped about anything.

My mom waited with me for the TBC Discs outside of Gamestop for like 5+ hours when I was 14 with a group of 100+ other dudes from teens to 20's, 30's, 40's, it was honestly so much fun. Everyone was so excited, calling out their realms (loud cheers from some! *YEAH!* ), then saw grown men exchanging character names or phone numbers so they could play together or just make friends. My mom still to this day says that made her understand why I enjoy video games, because even though it's through a game; you do form real friendships with real people! I miss classic, TBC, and WOTLK days so much. I'm thankful I got to experience that. I feel like there won't be another game like Vanilla wow ever again. Thanks for the good memories, MadSeason!

The comment section is just ret paladin/enhance shamans asking for class changes. Just play a rogue or warrior if you want to be top dps. Plenty of people just want to provide good buffs and help their raid survive on the support classes. Don’t like support classes? Dont pick paladin or shaman, simple.

I honestly thought this was what "Season of Discovery" was supposed to be, "Classic +". But I honestly believe that millennials are incapable of building something good upon an existing franchise & sticking to the source material. Every time I’ve tried retail I can’t even get into it. When I make a new character I feel totally lost and the world seems completely empty. Whenever I pay for a boost I feel disconnected from my character and get bored/quit within a day.

14:00 Yup, Vendorstrike having it's charm. However, I disagree that it's completely useless. Say you're just a ret paladin brought along to fill a roster in a 40 man molten core run, you're lvl 58 or something, but the raid still gets cleared. That "vendorstrike" is an upgrade to most blues/greens you may have gotten from a quest in the open world. I had a ret paladin alt that I brought along for a molten core run in late classic 2019 just before TBC classic pre patch came out, I'd attuned that character to molten core too, and just brought it for lulz. Vendorstrike drops, and I take it cause it was an upgrade to the blue lvl 40/50 weapon I had. Vendorstrike has it's charm just for that alone. That it can be used at level 58 and can be given to a meme spec.

Interesting build. I'm going to try using Fortress to make the wall Wall a Fire Circle ;). The problem with Firewall in these games is mobs walk out of them. The circle forces them to walk thru it twice.

Watching this video again during anniversary classic, it's amazing how the people who refuse to question anything, are winning against the people who question things all the time. And it's like, the people who do question things, such as myself, In my op are generally a heck of alot smarter than the people who don't question anything. I mean, there definitely was a side when facebook came out talking about how stupid it was. It just wasn't heard on a mass scale. With AI technology, it is nice to see the reactions of people who think it could be pretty bad. I am in that camp that thinks we were better off without it. But, it's interesting. It goes beyond the politics of wow in my op when every change that get's made seems to get made with a better or worse mindset, when in my op. Every change should be necessary, and not have any possibility of negatives tied to it. And quite frankly, changes do not need to happen as often as they currently do either. But, you either get with the program on that, or live a pretty depressing life. With wow it's a different story. Because you can just stop playing if you aren't getting with the changes. But you can't just quit on life because you aren't with the stupid changes going on. You can't just quit or unsub on life because you don't like or agree with the way the world is being run. And it's pretty tricky to force yourself to deal with things you don't agree with at all period to. Or to accept changes you do not like or care for.

Blizzard should've used sod to try a new road closer to vanilla instead they went full retail. Never go full retail

I think in tinyviolins case, if people weren't dishing out gear in a fair way to people who rightfully deserved to get the gear, then yah. They kind of deserved to get troll griefed anyways lol. The chess analogy is so flawed. I mean we see what happens in Classic without balance. Some pieces are not played at all but we have 27 queens 10 rooks and 3pawns (for curses) and the rest wont be invited to the party!

I get why you have these opinions, but I feel like it's overly negative in a time where blizzard has done more or less everything right since the launch of Dragonflight. You can't really judge retail on leveling; the entire game is about content at max. Playing the game in any other way is bound to make you disappointed cause it's not the intended design. Sure, you can drive a car on the highway backwards, but it's gonna be a bad time. As for TBC Classic, it was by far the most fun I had in classic and my guild also had the same experience - to the point where we are now playing vanilla MOSTLY to be prepared going into TBC again. I think you and a lot of other people in the comments here are just really negative and set in your ways, and that you need to try to expand your horizon to enjoying MMOs in different ways. You're old, and it shows.
