And for all the thousands upon thousands of people that live outside the city, there's basically no parking.
@tgchismАй бұрын
Parking is really the big issue and the new project actually reduced parking spaces which is crazy! Toss in a massive increase in parking fees and it's just another reason that we avoid downtown. Besides a favorite burger establishment, there is not a lot down town! Also, the big ugly rust faced parking structure is a real eyesore!

So this is basically the controlled 15 min city, hmmmm very strategic people, we will rise up and make sure informed consent is advertised for the under researched. I also work with the homeless and projects in Redding and you have them living downtown in the new builds, places loaded with Disability and section * housing. This is not what they are trying to paint, Time to get involved in all the areas of influence and bring facts instead of facades.

Good video for me, I was downtown earlier today and those particular areas remind me of Bay Street in Emeryville. That part of downtown Redding to me has a better quality of certain things, and if parking is only a buck an hour and you can't beat that.

Someone took a bunch of grant money to build those crowded "income based" housing units. The people who moved in there are not from Redding. Polish it and put a bow on it all you like, it's Central planners' working their social engineering as usual.

Redding is a very WHITE and very conservative city. Those are the facts. If you are a minority, you will definitely feel out of place the majority of the time. Just being real as someone from out of state 🤷🏾♂️
@Connman902 ай бұрын
More public transportation would be key. If Redding was smart, put in a light rail line that goes from the outskirts of Redding as well as the airport to downtown. Then there's less need for parking, easier for people to get to downtown and walk around.

@bioniteorigins2 ай бұрын
becuase of the crime everyone in redding has a gun and is extremely paranoid, the police will not respond to any calls unless you have been shot or stabbed. The are literally 1000's of homeless people living in the bushes, that during the 110 degree summer can get very agitated. The county is extremely corrupt and spends money on stuff that is NOT needed (the brand new, 100 million $ court house is just one example). The town is full of drug addicts that will steal everything you own if its not welded to something, just sayin'!

Why would you want more cars in a downtown area?
@barrettteam4 ай бұрын
With more parking available and downtown growth, I see more cars as a positive thing that there are more people downtown to support the businesses making it a thriving area.
@vilicus774 ай бұрын
@@barrettteam More cars means congestion, ugliness, and danger for pedestrians. Walkable areas make better downtown experiences. Why use up downtown space for parking spots instead of businesses? There are other options for parking.
@barrettteam4 ай бұрын
I completely understand your thought process. I’m not sure if you reside in our area, but with the improvement of downtown and the addition of clean transportation, there are now more walkable areas and sidewalks, making it easier to navigate downtown on foot. The previous parking system took up a lot of wasted space, but now new buildings have been built. The problem is that if there isn’t enough parking provided and just an influx of businesses, nobody will come downtown because they wouldn't have anywhere to park. Often, people park and then walk around, so this parking change and adding parking in various spots has been helping the area continue to grow in a healthy way.
