IS RK G68 THE BEST DAILY DRIVER?

The RK G68 may be one of the more affordable hotswappable keyboards with bluetooth functions, it's great for beginners that are getting into the hobby and with just a few modifications the board can actually sound really great.

I swapped the keycaps on mine to thicker abs double shot ones i had from another board, swapped the original rk reds mine came with by using outemu reds that feel smoother and more quiet, and installed some foam under the board. Feels smooth like butter and sounds pretty good - not as good as yours, but I'm happy with it. I may at some point lube the switches, but too lazy to do that right now..

I think they are really nice sounding for the price, although I feel they have to be lubed and filmed for the best results! If I could, I would really like to try out more builds with gat ink blacks or creams!

Honestly this is a great board without having to do all that. I just modded the stabilizers and put in panda switches and it is absolutely a dream. Much easier approach for anyone who thinks this looks daunting. Obviously your mods will be a lot better, just it isn't totally necessary.

i got an iso rk68 in white, swapped the switches for gateron yellows and put some cherry profile pbt keycaps on, and case foam, and it sounds great, for around £120 i’d say it’s great value

I have the same ones as yours, but man.. I can't even unscrew my pcb from the plate, I thought they screw it in too tightly, and it was surprising for me seeing you unscrew them so easily hahaha. Great modification video btw, love the before and after!

My RK G68 is almost the same as yours! The difference being the keycaps (I used PBT XDA profile keycaps) and the stabilizers (I replaced the stock ones with lubed Durock stabilizers). I didn't do the bar end mods though. Mine sounds and works fantastic, but my spacebar is really loud when pressed. The removable cover with mine isn't flushed with the keyboard too. The gap between the spacebar and the bottom part of the cover is noticeably bigger compared to the sides. It actually annoyed me to the point where I put double-sided tape inside the removable cover to lessen the gap. I assume the reason why mine isn't flush with the board is because I repeatedly kept on removing the cover. I still recommend this keyboard though. Great value for a 65% hot-swappable board.

4 keys is not working for me already :( i don't know what to do. if i press one of those keys. 4 of them lights(a very low light (rgb is not working anymore) its like an indicator that it's being pressed together) but it doesn't work/register the keys. i tried putting an alcohol overnight. i haven't tried unscrewing etc.

That was my main concern actually, after using the board for about a week or so I found that it didn't really affect the keys that much! When I flipped the space bar back to it's original position, the space bar would scratch against the 'x' key a bit but other than that I didn't find any interference!

Sorry if this is a stupid question, but I've never gotten after market keycaps before-I can't seem to find the exact keycaps measurements for this keyboard, I am especially hesitant to buy a keycaps set since I'm not sure how many U's the shift keys are. Does anyone have a chart showing the U measurements per key?

Tab is 1.5u, caps lock is 1.75u, left shift is 2.25u, right shift is 1.75u, enter is 2.25u, backspace is 2u, control, win key and alt is 1.25u, space bar is 6.25! It’s a little messy but I hope it helps

Some reminders that rk68 or rk855 is different from rkg68 or rk837. rk68 is 65% but it does not have a removable top cover, dongle, 3 ports, and 2 on and off switch unlike the rkg68, it is also 65% but it is the complete opposite of the rk68.

rk G68 is rk 837 not the same with rk68/855.. G68 has USB pass through and upgraded RGB and some branded stabs if im not wrong

After using it for a few weeks I didn't have a huge problem with any interference with the keycaps! Although then the space bar is not flip there seemed to be some rubbing against the keys!

is there a way to change fn button function from multimedia keys to f1 f2 f3 buttons on my rk g68 keyboard? when i press for example alt fn 4 to toggle alt f4 it opens up calculator instead of closing the page program etc.

How did you get the multimedia keys to work? Mine doesn't. Did you use your keyboard on Mac? I use it on windows and only Alt F4 work instead.

I can control many things but cannot easily alt fn 4 ( alt f4) its frustrating to switch between modes whole keyboard lights up for 2 seconds and you wait up fo 5 seconds just to alt f4. so i put script to alt c bind it to alt f4 lol

I had problems with the number keys from before! It was solved when I reset the board! Hold Fn + space and you’ll see blinking, once the blinking stops the board should be reset!

I just got RK84 from the same brand, I will be moding it BUT stabs on my aren't nearly as rattly as here. They put actually good amount of lube and though it's not perfect, IMO for a 80$ board it's outstanding.
