ROBLOX
If you're under 13 and chat to your friends on Roblox you might not be able to anymore. Roblox is blocking under 13s from private messaging. So what does this mean exactly? Well under the new safety features Roblox is rolling out over the next few months. Under-13s will be blocked from direct messaging others outside of games or experiences and they won't be able to send DM's within games unless a parent or guardian gives them permission in the app. So what's all this about? According to research, Roblox is one of the most popular gaming platforms for 8 to 12 year olds and with rising concerns over online safety. Roblox has been under a lot of pressure to do more to make it safer for kids. So how is it going to work? Well, parents will need to get their own Roblox accounts and verify themselves using an ID or credit card which will then be linked to their child's account and give them full control of things like checking out your friend's list, viewing and managing your screen time as well as chat functions, what content your can access and how much you spend. The changes have already started to roll out and should be in full swing by March next year.

WORLD CHILDREN'S DAY
Today is World Children's Day. It marks the date that the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child was introduced, which is a promise made by countries to protect kids' rights, making sure they are safe, healthy, and can grow up happy. The day is also an opportunity for young people to speak up about the change they want to see in the world. This year the UN is encouraging all children across Australia to have their voices heard by joining in for a minute of loudness.
