I felt a small pinch when they got to the nerve. (like if they poked my finger with a dull needle) now this sounds scary but it was more shocking than painful bc everything else was numb till then. but all you have to do is tell them so they can add more numbing in your gums. I was shaking from fear for the first half but i did fine the rest of it. definitely worth it to tell them you can still feel even after they start the procedure. you want to feel comfortable. its not something you want to just push yourself through. (: sounds scary but we gotta do whats best to make the pain go

Dentist didn't gave me any injection on first day and it was painful. He just sprayed anaesthetic spray and it pained i stopped him after that next sitting he gave local anaesthesia and grind inside the tooth. In third sitting even when I said i am having pain he used pin to check inside tooth and that was a pain i can't imagine he gave some filling to the tooth and said will remove remaining amount in next sitting. People are saying it is painless. I am not sure about it.

I got it done today on 3 teethes. My doctor was really nice he told me to let him know every time I feel pain, he would give me anaesthesia which made the treatment very much painless. Now after the treatment it’s been 2 hours and I’ve started to feel a little bit of pain. But that’s completely normal and bearable 😊

@@pramodpm2810 it doesn’t hurt as such. If you have tooth sensitivity you must be knowing that feeling in your tooth when you eat something very cold right? It’s that same kind of feeling but like 10 time more so it feels uncomfortable but not painful, if you feel that just let your dentist know and he’ll give you more anaesthesia. You should be fine good luck 😃

Hahaha my dear😊😅😅 let me tell you .long story short . I had severe tooth pain for a year but i have dental phobia so I always argued with my mum whenever she took me to the dentist. but last week it was unbearable and I had no other option left.my father and brother forced me to get outta of home and everyone said I am going to have check up only . But when I went there my dentist said I will have an immediate root canal or else I'll lose my teeth . I freaked out 😱 at that moment. Can't explain to you how a 21 year old lady was crying badly in front of a hall full of patients . Also my mum's death stares. My dentist asked me to lay down properly or else he'll slap me 😅😅😅 I was afraid of injections too much . But he told me look at the 💉 needle but I didn't listen to him and I closed my eyes tightly and then closed my ears with my hands too I kid you not when I tell you all I noticed was a slight pin in my gum it was so so so light that i actually laughed at me. After the anaesthesia/injection They leave you for 10 mins and then you'll feel your gums completely numb. There will be no discomfort no pain at all. believe me 😅😅😅.only the bad thing about rct is the drilling part . The machines sound only and just cover your ears with your hands and you're good to go because no sound=no sensation

Just got root canal today, (second appointment), they were doing testing by putting some kind of needle and asking if pain feel and in one of root, i got severe pain and after getting pain 8-10 times I asked them to stop, not sure what kind of testing is this, but the treatment is not painless, now i got third appointment to check, and they may be doing same testing. Now I returned home and googling if root canal treatment is painful or not.

Biggest lie about rct Is after giving anaesthesia it will not pain😢😢😢 I'll suggest fellow patient to tell doctor to give anaesthesia to both side of tooth nd wait atleast for 25 min then the pain will be less otherwise it'll hurt badly

I got root canal, 2 sittings are done,on day 1 she put 2 anasthesia injections, but still it was too much pain, I told her repeatedly that it pains, but she doesnt care. The next day, again same thing she gave 1injection only and whole 45 min I want to cry. She called for 3rd visit, for filling, now I am really scared. Can I change the dentist at this stage. It was a painful experience man. Dentist gave anesthesia 2 shots, i didn't feel much numbness, then she gave 2 more shots....it was a bit numb. Grinding started, as some part it was and at some part it was not paining. worst part is, the pain is not gradual, it suddenly its the bar. and once you experience that kind of pain, then it sits in your head because, you don't know, when will be the next time you get the hit again. 2nd worst part is the next session, because, now you know, what may happen, so psychologically you are tensed. but, i ll tell you from my experience its better to get going and finish in that session rather than going for next one.

@nikhilapte1179 sorry to hear your experience.its probable that you had a hot tooth. And anaesthesia did not set fully because of infection..this is one of the reason we dentist always say to get treatment done early and not wait for more problem to occur because in dental infection anaesthesia does not set well. I hope you found relief after next session. Dont worry now their are better techniques to handle hot tooth.

Some people pain tolerance is very high. Some it's very less so there nerves do not get anaesthetised easily. There are some teeth also which are having more infection. So if there Is more infection the teeth do not get anaesthetised fully till the infections subsides. That's the main reason why we always tell patients to do dental treatment as soon as possible and not wait till the end moment.

Hello, just how we cannot compare the treatment results of one patient to another same way we cannot compare treatment results of one tooth to another tooth in the same patient..sometimes doctors encounter complications due to anatomical variation in the structure of the tooth hence it may take time and more disinfection on the dentist part to effectively complete the root canal. Hopefully, your tooth will recover soon.
