So Tuesday we have the final season 2 lore video, Wednesday the last review (gonna be a long one). But that's not all folk. I have a season review planned for next week and of course loads of videos coming, including what i expect we will see in Season 3. Hope you all enjoyed Season 2, thanks for the support over the last six weeks, it's really been crazy and as much as i will miss HOTD, it's been a hell of a lot of work and late night mean it's currently 3.22am. But to get content out so quickly due to time sensitivity gotta do what you gotta do. It's really not my normal workflow. Now all aboard the Dunk and Egg hype train.

I think Hugh kind of hinted he grew up a good life (rich life) but he was embarrassed of his mother’s profession so much he decided to live a humble life as a smith. I think Hugh grew up living with his mother during her travels and he joined his three siblings to travel to Westeros and separated from them to move to Kingslanding before the Great Council began.
@memecity9849Ай бұрын
It could still make sense in the books if Hugh was born in Essos. Saera was 18 when left Westeros. By the time of the Great Council of 101, Hugh would have been about 14 years old.
@mike.n.n.7723Ай бұрын
3 of Saera's Bastard sons (all with different fathers, so no twins) went to press their claims at the Great council. The oldest of them would have been 14

And he came to Kingslanding when he was young because Saera wanted her kids to put in a claim in The Great Council of 101. So BOOM He would be Hugh Waters, like Jon Snow was born in Dorne but grew up in Winterfell
@SebastianHackeadoАй бұрын
@@redadmiralofvalyria867 Exactly, also it doesn't seem to be related to where they where born also, Jon Snow should be Jon Sand if we are going with that. Also he doesn't seem to be known around as a bastard, or Ulf, or Adam and Allyn. The nobel needs to recognize them as bastards to be called that I believe.
@mike.n.n.7723Ай бұрын
You need to be acknowledged as a bastard for you to be given a bastard surname e.g. Edric Storm and Mya Stone were both acknowledged by Robert so they got the surnames based on their respective regions; but Gendry and Bella were never acknowledged so they didn't get the names

The good thing about the book is that is not "accurate" by the way is written, is full of lies. He is portrayed in the show like a grounded and respectful man, he is not going to betray the blacks the same way is described in the book. Also why having a wild and spirit free mother make her or her son a traitor? I don't get it.

@SebastianHackeadoАй бұрын
@@emilegriffith1473 Maybe, but still seems out of character, the dude almost sacrificed himself to save a random woman from a f**king dragon that was torching and eating everyone around him. The only "bad" thing we saw him doing was punching a dude for a couple of vegetables, it was understandable because they were starving. For me is more probable that he will not "betray" them, in the book a lot of the times they state "we don't know what they said to each other" or mushroom said this, and the septon said that, and the other maester said this. They could have lied to cover what really happened or because they don't really know. And what better scapegoat to frame decades later than a bastard with a dragon. So is open for the show writers to do him good. I hope they do the same with my dog Daeron.

In a podcast Ryan Condal confirmed Seara was indeed Hugh’s mother. All of the clues dropped track directly to her.
@ValandhirАй бұрын
We only know of the children Seara sent to the council. She might have had more, and maybe one of her sons went with the others to Westeros, but split from them before the council (the council records only those present,) and thus Hugh got away, and began his own life, becoming a Blacksmith apprentice somewhere and ultimately ending up in King's Landing.

Dragonstone isn't that small, they just only show a small part in the show. In GOT they showed more of it once and you can see farms and stuff.

This is actually one of my favorite nerdy reveals. I like Hugh on the show and now the show’s version is my head canon and the book just hates on small folk so the Targaryen propaganda would be like “can you believe these people didn’t have blind loyalty to us?” Despite them not caring until they had dragons
@NoonmeilaАй бұрын
Hugh isn’t Saera’s son. His mother was either a distant Targaryen bastard or a beautiful Lyseni woman who used a story that she was related to Targaryens to sell to her clients and probably lied to Hugh to make him feel better about her job. He has hang-ups about her being SW. Saera was a very proud person, so I have a feeling if she had sons and became very wealthy, her sons would be proud because SWers are looked down upon in the East, especially since she was a Targaryen princess and she was a successful business owner,

If Saera was pregnant when reaching the pleasure house. So the chance of Hugh's father was a Westerosi perhaps a Hightower or Redwyne. Saera esteemed her status in Lys after some years. So his first son was mistreated in Lys. At that time Saera speaks Westerosi language. So Hugh had no Lyseni touch. If Saera Targaryn tells him that his father is from reach. So he came to Reach at Tumbleton he works as a Blacksmith's apprentice and later marry his daughter. All are perfect.

She is not, at least not in the books. She went straight to essos and stayed there, 2/3 sons did went to the great council so maybe they are the father or somethinh.

If Saera did get knocked up by Braxton Beesbury, that would be something that Jaehaerys would ask to be kept quiet. I know it still doesn't completely fit with the book canon. I just like it because it adds another layer to the story of Jaehaerys and his messed up relationship with his kid's. Also a bastard grandson claiming Vermithor is awesome.

I don't get peoples betrothal to the book. The book was written by people who weren't in these rooms, who weren't privy to private conversations. They're third party recollections at best. Why would you expect the book to be completely true when the narrators can't even agree. It's propaganda.
@WorldOfWesterosАй бұрын
To some extent that is true, yes there are inconsistencies and vagueness in fire and blood given it was written as a history book. But that doesn't mean everything in the book is 'propaganda' or everything is incorrect. Obviously private conversation between people are pure speculation on the sources part, but much of what is documented comes from people like Orwyl and Gerardys who very much were in the room for a lot of these key events. Munkin himself can be very bias and pick and choose however. There are also many cases were the sources do agree and undeniable facts. Characters ages, wider key historical actions etc. Using this video as an example, the fact Saera was exiled in 84ac is true, are the circumstances of her exsile 100% true, maybe not, who knows exactly what happened in the throne room we only have one source for it who is Pro-Jaehaerys. Yes fire and blood has propaganda, yes there are conflicting sources and you have to be aware of that when reading it, but 90% really isn't like that at all

isnt the book a historical retlling and canonically inaccurate
@WorldOfWesterosАй бұрын
Yes and no. There are a lot of conflicting accounts of what happened with certain events (Cole & Rhaenyra’s relationship is a good example) where its impossible to know the truth. The dance is where a lot of the conflicting accounts exist with 3-4 key sources who disagree on a fair amount. But id say 80% is fairly solid factually laying out in vague terms what happened, when, to who. Using this video as an example, we know Saera was born in 67, we know she was exiled in 84ac. We know there was some kind of relationship with her group of friends. We know some of what happened thanks to multiple witness statements, but we can never know what really happened with her friends given Munkin wasn’t there exactly there. We can peace together a vague idea but not 100% how it went down. So yes there is inaccuracy and you should always remember that when reading it, but that doesn’t mean the whole book is factually inaccurate.

I might be in the minority (for now) but after watching both seasons of HotD I can say the series is not that good. It’s a mess, plot drags way too much, a lot of the episodes are filler, characters stand around for episodes doing nothing, and they have a few plot holes that I can’t get my head around (like aegon the younger and visery are literal toddlers, aren’t they like 5/6 in the books).
