Having only been king a matter of weeks King Jaehaerys ii Targaryen faced his first true test. The band of nine and Maelys Blackfyre had landed in the stepstones ready to attack mainland westeros. The king sent a task force to the step stones to beat back the attackers including the likes of Steffon Baratheon, Rickard Stark, Hoster Tully, John Arry, Twin Lannister, and even his own son and heir, Prince Aerys. The legendary kingguard night would also rise to fame during the war as Ser Barristain Selmy wrote his name in the history books.

I love how Jaehaerys was like "Give me a sword, I am gonna lead the army myself". Even sickly and not considered a warrior, he was still the Blood of the Dragon. Badass! To The King! 🍻

Lets be honest here: None of the Blackfyre rebellions were a real threat to the Targaryens, including the first one. They didnt have the numbers, the allies or dragons or even a good cause. The only times the Targaryens rule was in real danger was the war against the Faith, the Dance of the Dragons and Roberts Rebellion. Compared to those three the Balckfyres were nothing more than a headache

I agree the spring sickness did more damage to targ rule than the blackfyres did.

Their cause was never a good one, which is pretty much why they never posed much of a threat. There is no skin in the game. The first rebellion against Daeron was absolutely ridiculous. A good King who was fair, good and judicious. All because their terrible father gave his favorite bastard a sword. If Daeron had been an asshole, it would have been more successful. But had Daeron been killed, I still see the lords giving the throne to his heirs and not a Blackfyre. After that, whenever the Blackfyres show up in Westeros again, I imagine the lords bemoaning, "you again?" But there is something undeniably fun about repeated attempts with terrible odds.

Can somebody help me? I'm trying to figure out who is the missing Targaryen boy people keep talking about. I want to say Maelor but it's not from the Dance. It's just there is no record of him at all when he was a child. No death no life no anything besides his birth and I was thinking maybe he is fAegon but I can't remember his name I want to say Rhaegal but idk.
