When talking about the Stellaron Hunters, there is one thing we can never ignore: *Elios script* They are actors playing the villains as a form of controlled opposition, doing the dirty work so that our MC can have a clean record and take care of the real threat. Just look at our interactions with them once the act is over, they go from antagonist to "hey, how was our performance?" and suddenly treat you as their best friend. And this wasnt even our first interaction with Sam on Penacony, remember when he send us his script by accident and started spamming pom-pom-stickers?

I like to view the hunters as opportunistic, right now theyre helping us because they need the MC to fight Nanook. But I really wonder what will happen after. Will we see their true colors? Will they be all supportive and help fix the universe? or maybe elio will push us aside to get what he wants and much like the hunters, were just performers too, at least to him 😁

@@Maevix3142 True, but from the general goal of stopping Nanook, that seems pretty universally good (unless it's all to ensure Terminus is born or something), but it's implied the Stellaron Hunters work with him because of what he promised them (not that they actually share his vision), death to Blade, Meaning to Sam/Firefly, 'Fear' for Kafka (though it's possible she wants to save the trailblazer's life given that they'll have to fight Nanook, and perhaps Elio making her care about the Trailblazer will eventually allow her to feel fear) and fun for Silverwolf. The latter even says that she probably would've joined the Astral Express if Elio hadn't found her first. And a lot of Kafka's text messages imply she does care about the Trailblazer (possibly by Elio's design as he did say that they would change each other).

Everytime I remember that Stellaron Hunter is a Crime Group that has bounty of billions. I can only think of them as that one friend group in the main anime cast. Silverwolf does not act a villain enough to me, so as sam in that one message interaction with blade's phone😭😭

I doubt people will read this, but something worth noting is that, for the JP dub when Sam confronted us, he was surprisingly polite. He even use some keigo(?), and is noted by SilverWolf to be a "straight shooter who values a fair fight". Its quite a different impression when compared to how the EN dub presented Sam.

I always appreciate it when someone comments about the differences in the language. Since im mostly an english speaker I tend to miss out on those subtle details. Previously someone mentioned that when sam was refered to in french they used a feminine tone rather than masculine hinting at who sam really is. So it always interesting to learn about these things 😁

@@Maevix3142These were fixed quickly and were likely mistranslations similar to Nahida and Rhukkadevata. As the name Rhukkadevata is masculine and was referred to as such in other languages as well if I remember correctly, meanwhile the name Kusanali is femenine which leads me to believe the decision to make the previous dendro archon female was a fairly late decision perhaps a year or so before 3.0 or slightly before.

The amount of non JP or CN streamers and youtubers who misunderstand a joke as “crazy lore” and start talking about it for tens of minutes is higher than you’d think simply cause they cant gauge the meaning of certain words or tones as a native speaker can. I think everyone forget that in the beginning of the story where we meet Acheron we see Silverwolf and Sam in the Lobby talking about dragging someone off the stage, might be another proof that Stellaron Hunters don't want us getting involved with the Penacony conflict

Sam is definitely one of the most easier motives considering everything weve seen on the Laofu. Its clear that Sam is just following the plan. Though i do wonder if fireflys demise was an issue to the script. Either way i dont think we are really gonna get a specific villain anyway. Everyone seems to be going for the watchmakers legacy and meanwhile everything is breaking. This also makes sense with the removal of the easiest threat. That being ifrit. Idk if the rest of the everflame mansion will ever appear but i honestly think they will be slotted in for later.

When Sam attacks the trailblazer. He is clearly telling Black Swan and Acheron to leave. Even in the ending cutscene. You can clearly tell his hand is open to grab us. I think he is trying to grab us and fly away from Acheron and Black Swan. They have made everyone in penacony but Sam/Firefly very sus. Like it clear anyone could be the villain. As they are all very questionable. Even Acheron and Black Swan who are the most friendliest out of them all. I know they are painting aventurine and sparkle as the go to villain. Though I am thinking that a red hearing. As right now I am putting my money on Gallagher. I think he knew who firefly was and I think he knows more then what he showed in his few seconds of screen time.

Apparently, on the Stellaron Hunters' symbol (the coin Kafka flips on her trailer), there are six stars and a big one in the middle. The big one's for Elio, and the six smaller stars are the Hunters; Kafka, Blade, Silver Wolf, Sam. There's two more that we might meet

On the contrary, I think we’re all overlooking Misha too much. I don’t think he’s necessarily a villain ( yet ) but his allusory connections to the Watchmaker and the most dangerous parts of the Dreamscape are very suspicious. The other characters I feel are made to distract from that.

The way he address ONLY the Galaxy Ranger (Acheron) and Memokeeper (Black Swan) seems a bit odd to me. Why didn't he also mention us the Trailblazer? It's as if he didn't see us as a threat, maybe even an Ally. Even if he attacked us, it doesn't seem to be to kill us but to scare us away. But still, after finishing Chadwick's quest, the IPC is way more untrustworthy and despicable. They made the Stellaron Hunters looking like Angels.

I think the best thing about the "villains" so far are all of them are opportunistic, sure the hunters are technically helping us but once nanook is out of the way I bet they go right back to fulfilling Elio's plan with or without the MC. Its the same for everyone, the memokeepers only want memories, the IPC only want profits (and building material lol) and everyone is just using everyone else. Thats what makes me so interested in all the characters, today's ally could turn out to be tomorrows antagonist, its all about which goals align with whom

I subscribe to the theory that Sam is an AI of the suit while Firefly is the human pilot and the two can interact separately in the dreamscape (robots can enter it too). Also, Elio's scripts some times leave out information so that the hunters will act of their own accord to get the best outcome. Maybe Firefly's 'death' is going to motivate Sam, maybe even making them team up with the Trailblazer in the end. I personally think most of the characters (Acheron included) are all red herrings until we find out more about the Watchmaker and how Misha and Clokie fit into the overall story. I wonder if the Watchmaker is disgusted by how indulgent Penacony has become (we see the awful crap hidden in a lot of side quests) and wants to tear it all down. And if Misha is some kind of dream entity or ghost (until they have a scene with Black Swan I can't conclusively assume he's a ghost yet) maybe his backstory will become relevant to the darkness in the dreamscape. Especially as it seems something awful happend to him when you're first introduced to the Death meme.

I like the theory that links Firefly to Titania, but there is something that bothers me in the way everyone keeps interpreting the relationship between her and Sam: to me it really doesn't seem like they get along. She addresses him the way you'd address someone you don't trust but you have to work with. He left her behind despite the meme being around, and she obviously felt betrayed. In fact, if she turns out to be Titania, I think Sam might literally hate her. She is the face of the false empire that tricked his regiment into slavery. And maybe they ended up having to work together because of parallel ties to the Stellaron Hunters. I think it's indisputable that they share the same origins considering their color scheme and association, but it really seems to me like people are misinterpreting their relationship

This is entirely possible, given titania was made to reign in the mecha warriors of the iron cavalry I would imagine they have some resentment towards her given she was part of the lie as well. Maybe its a situation where despite knowing the truth they are still bound to her in some way, forced to follow her commands. I didnt really consider though that sam might actually hate her despite being forced to be subservient, wish I thought of that to include in the video tbh as it gives them a rather interesting dynamic

I agree. Sam is not bad. I just dislike devs make firefly quickly engage with trailblazer and deems to force having emotional connection. If aventurine become boss and sam become boss to fight, then I do believe they both gonna be great like Kafka. There must be a reason why both of them become the Boss and not Acheron or Sparkle. Remember when player say no to (reject/decline offer) aventurine, the screen change into black and only text shows. Later Elio write down the credits just like in movie. So I think Elio knows Acheron will be there. If Acheron is really emantor of Finality, then Elio must know what gonna happen to Trailblazer. When going to Penacony, Trailblazer meet Acheron and being sliced with her Katana. That is enough reason to be careful with her. Not only that, Aventurine is also try to warn Trailblazer.

Its like people cant let go of their first impressions no matter how many times those impressions are subsequently shown to be mistaken. He was literally just trying to make us leave the true dream world. He outright said that multiple times. "The stelleron hunters are criminals" they are labeled criminals by the IPC, an extremely corrupt organization responsible for unimaginable atrocities. Thats not the same as just "being bad"

I think its a bit grey when it comes to the IPC, sure they have some rather dubious members but theyve also done quite a bit to help the galaxy in preserving whatever is in it alongside their aeon. Most of the interstellar trade exists because of the IPC and plenty of planets have benefitted from that As for the stellaron hunters, again I think their motives and past arent clear enough at this point to say theyre definitely not villains, I think theyre opportunistic and if the MC is a way to get what they want they have no qualms about using them. I mean blade is considered a criminal not just by the IPC but the xianzhou alliance as well for his involvement in the whole baiheng stuff, and in dan hengs backstory hes killed and destroyed countless ships filled with people in pursuit of dan heng. Silver wolf is a known hacker whos stolen and created chaos all over the place and the iron cavalry of glamoth, which sam is suspected to be part of is hinted to have functionally wiped glamoth of the map Plus we dont really know what their end goal here is, we know theyre following a script and are helping the MC to eventually face nanook but their end goal could stretch beyond that. Maybe after nanook is taken care of they want to end the universe on their terms given elio might follow finality or maybe elio himself wants to be an aeon at the expense of everyone else. I think right now the stellaron hunters and the nameless have mutual interests but once thats gone I think the hunters would show their true colours, but I might be wrong. Sorry about the wall of text but I like talking about the lore 😁

If I were to consider someone who uses others for a greater objective, and perhaps doesn't fulfill what he promised in the end, I would easily say it would be Elio. This is so true that even Kafka in Owlbert's interview says that perhaps Blade would never see paradise even if it had been promised to him.

I want to point this out before anybody else notices but what if Black Swan altered the memories of the events leading up to Firefly’s death. This could heavily impact the way we perceive Sam. We perceive Sam as an enemy because they had some sort of involvement in Firefly’s death. We also need to consider the MO of Something Unto Death. Why did it target Firefly and then flee. It does not fit it’s MO and that makes me believe that it is being controlled by something or perhaps that is not the real Something Unto Death. We all already know that Black Swan has the power to subdue the meme. Perhaps she is able to control it and she is in fact the meme in question. Perhaps Firefly faked her own death with the help of Black Swan using the memoria in the dreamscape as a way to create an illusion of Something Unto Death. This would lead into the perfect transition for us to have to encounter Sam. Black Swan is somebody who we know little about but what we do know is that they have a goal in mind and the capabilities to achieve it. She has both the opportunity and the capability to do it. We don’t know who to trust in Penacony. All we know is that something is off and that we can only trust ourselves and the Nameless. We also need to consider Sparkle. In Sparkle and Black Swan’s mission we got to attempt to solve murders as Black Swan. From this we can obviously tell that Black Swan and Sparkle are intelligent and have some form of connection to each other. In each of the murders, the real Sparkle pretended to be dead. Perhaps this was a bit of foreshadowing that Black Swan, Sparkle, and Firefly are working with each other. Sparkle might be working with Black Swan and Sam because she finds it interesting. That matches her MO. But all I can say for certain is that whatever is going to happen is something I can only dream of. But whether that dream will become a nightmare is yet to be determined.

I’m gonna avoid talking about potential Firefly connections but it would simply make my argument stronger which would be in bad faith taking a theory to boost my argument but here it goes. Sam was the unknown number sending us msgs before Penacony and not Kafka, he seemed to reach out to Trailblazer rather than a fist or shoot fire, he tells Acheron and Black Swan to leave possibility wanting to talk to the trailblazer one on one, the stelleron hunters seem to have known the MC quite a bit on a personal level and even humor the MC’s text messages and nonsense rather than getting angry or competitive such as the simulated universe runs SW seemed pretty passive with MC and cocky and snide with Herta and Screwllum. I’d need to finish other story quests but its due to these reasons that I think Sam was actually very close to the MC but not on a romantic level.

If you look at the subtext you discover that the stellaron hunters do almost the same as Welt but in a less ethical way, and their main objective are not the stellaron themselves but Nanook itself (the main reason they decided to put a stellaron in a human-like receptacle) so rather than being villains they are more like anti-heroes and the main reason they have a bounty is because they fucked up money opportunities for the IPC and we know they are not exactly a paragon of virtue exactly

I think it's more likely that they will drag the astral express along with the trailblazer to fight Nanook. The end of the game will probably be bringing together all of Trailblazer's allies throughout the story to defeat Nanook.

But the game will likely proceed without exposing the stellaron hunters fully, probably hoping to maintain an aura of mystery and fascination around them; the game itself builds this subtly. And it has proven to work well so far. I believe stellaron hunters will be an occasional appearance. The only ones that I think will appear more will be those with lore issues to develop, like Blade (and his unfinished problem with Dan Heng) and Kafka (and his relationship with MC), and in the end the only union we would have would be in the final battle, because there is no way for them to escape this fate. Unfortunately for a significant part of the fandom, by the narrative of the game's story and Elio's scripts, staying on the astral express is the only option.

Misha Also has a great villain potential. He seems to be the grandson of the nameless who stayed here and the creator of the dream and Clockie. Reading his backstory and the watchmakers set is pretty cool. He is either the watchmaker himself or the watchmakers grandson/legacy. So either he is missing his memory or is hiding in plain sight.

Misha is clearly not a villain. I dont know where this idea comes from, but it really makes me question your media literacy. Its pretty obvious he is the grandson of the watchmaker, who was a nameless, and misha dreams about following in his footsteps. Its also obvious that misha has experienced some tragedy. But literally nothing about him indicates any ill intent. That is just stupid.

Huh, where did I mention he was a villain? The opening line was meant to say outside of the 2 people who are clearly not villains, everyone else is practically a candidate 🤔. Maybe the way I phrased that came off a bit wrong so my bad there but grouping him with the nameless should be fairly clear I wasnt referring to him as a villain, likely the only person there who isnt one
