I've been using a cheap pair of 15s as a daily trainer and have enjoyed them, a very underrated shoe. I was undecided between the 18 and a cheap pair of 17s from my local saucony outlet. I think I'll go for the 18 due to the weight and better upper.

@garthcox4307 good call! Where is the outlet out of interest? If you do go for the 18, it'd be amazing if you get them through us. 10% off your first order too 👏👏

@garthcox4307 ah ok. Got one 30 miles or so from us with Asics insite, but not Saucony. Can we tempt you to a purchase? 🤣

I just purchased a pair of the ride 18 as I was looking for a generous toe box due to bunions Everyone falsely assumes Altra is the go to for wide toe box. But they have very low volume This saucony ride 18 is a better and more comfortable fit than Altra fwd via And more comfortable and better energy return that novablast 5 or nimbus 26

Great honest review again 👌 This is what a great local independent does, great shoe but not massively different to the previous year model. It’s this honesty that gives people confidence to buy, knowing it’s about repeat business and not a quick higher margin sale. 👏👏👏

Thank you. We've built our new reputation on being honest in store, and we're trying to keep that going online!

I want it so bad but I have no arch in my feet and have to wear the sacouny guide 17 and the tempus which are Damn good running stability shoes.
@SoleMateRunning7 күн бұрын
Hi Gary. urgh. It maybe worth trying it if you can. the mid and forefoot on it are quite wide which would give you added support, or maybe try it with something like an insole to give the support but in the shoe you want? Are you local to us in South Wales?
@dave15555 күн бұрын
looks like there is more cushion material at the heel on this one compared to 17?
@SoleMateRunning5 күн бұрын
Maybe a little bit. It does feel a little bit more "hugging" but nothing major.

Thanks for the info. I’m thinking this would be a great, daily miles, partner to plated marathon shoe. But what would you put with it to run a marathon? Endorphin Pro 4? 🤔
@SoleMateRunning7 күн бұрын
Oh that's a whole new conversation. what pace are you looking doing a marathon in? Unless you're looking at sub 3 or close enough, I genuinely wouldnt even bother with a carbon plated shoe. Something like the Endorphin Speed 4 maybe an option, but the Pro over the elite if you do go down the plated route. It's got the same PowerRunPB midsole but also with PowerRunHG which is a firmer more responsive midsole

Love the colorway. 😍 how's the fit width and length wise comapred to ride 17?
@SoleMateRunning11 күн бұрын
@arv1n_kenn3x I know, isn't it ! Thing of beauty!! Fit wise, length was good in the 17, and nothing changes here with the 18. On the width, it's a more generous width towards the front half of the shoe with the 18 than it was in the 17.

Great review! How does it compare to Novablast 5 in terms of flexibility and running efficienty?
@SoleMateRunning7 күн бұрын
@DavidJonssonHolm hi David, thank you for your kind comments. We don't stock Asics in store currently, but from customer conversations, it seems that the Novablast 5 is a lot softer under foot. if you've tried a New Balance 1080 v14, it gets compared to that a lot, in terms of softness and sinking into it and not necessarily getting too much back. I don't want to make anything up for the sake of it, as we always try and tell it like it is and be honest!!

How do they work for a narrow foot? I tried the triumph 21 and ride 17 which I both found a little too wide on my right foot with issues with support and heel slippage.
@SoleMateRunning12 күн бұрын
Hi! I've got a narrow foot and they do lock down nicely. In the testing I've done, I've not felt any slipping, but the option is always there use the "runners loop" or "heel lock", depending on what you call it :) It's a nice fit around the Heel and midfoot though with more room in the toe box. I hope this helps! Paul
