@@lostboi3974 Really appreciate the positive feedback. Nothing makes me happier than seeing these in the wild. I've been invested in Quantigence for well over a decade and love the growing income streams every year, the preservation and growth of the original capital, and the simplicity of the strategy. It's rather fun to watch all those payments roll in :) Please be sure to watch our most recent video on performance (kzbin.info/www/bejne/oKObip-LmdqHepY). Thank you for the financial support! Joe P.

Great overview Joe. One reason they don't include utilities or reits is because they prefer companies with low debts. Therefore, they've excluded quality companies such as MCD, NEE, etc.
@Nanalyze Жыл бұрын
Good observation! However, the choice to exclude REITs is prior to running the debt screen. Per utilities, you're absolutely right.

Thanks for the video Joe - you seem to have good awareness about weighting and diversification - impressive to me. I am interested in this ETF and still like it after watching video. Will ask you questions in Discord, so you can share your thoughts to our community.

Hey Wai! Nice to see you out in the wild ;) Yes, do raise questions on Discord as the community will benefit from them. I worked at MSCI for over a decade and a third of that time I spent managing teams that supported our index methodologies. During that time I did a Master's in Finance and that's where I conjured up Quantigence. I then developed the methodology with ex-MSCI colleagues when I left the firm. I'm well suited to cover ETFs so I think we'll do some more of that going forward. Your financial support makes this possible, so thank you! Joe

Great comment on ATM withdrawals when traveling. I would always get more than a little sketched out pulling 12,000 baht out of an ATM in front of a 7-Eleven in Chiang Mai. Always kept only a little in checking with a spare card for a different bank in the hotel to insure against pickpocketing. I’ll check out Schwab for my upcoming travel.
@Nanalyze Жыл бұрын
Good call on the spare card with a different bank. Another good tip is to slide a crisp $100 USD bill in your passport cover for tight situations. That will get you out of some situations and provide options for when you can't get to an ATM but need cash in a hurry ;)

Seems to be quite popular among retail investors, and apparently institutional too based on that large AUM number. We were surprised to see the complexity of the underlying index, and suspect other popular dividends ETFs use similar methods. Stay tuned!

Thank you for the kind words! The ETF is something we're certainly considering but needs a lot more research. Launching an ETF that will have a likelihood of success takes a lot of up front work so it's not something we're expecting to happen fast.

Bro, u should but the disclaimer for some people that are these are long-term and not shorty holds. SCHD is good but there are some problems with some of the core holding. Short terms there are some headwind but for the long term it's still pretty good.
@Nanalyze Жыл бұрын
Bro we can't really understand what you're trying to say here.
@paulstrube869211 ай бұрын
No SCHD should NOT have REITs...if it did I wouldn't buy SCHD. I want something that has non-taxable income. ALL dividends paid by SCHD are QUALIFIED DIVIDENDS that are free from income tax up to about $47,000/year. REITs are taxed at an ordinary income rate - like your salary from a job. I am retired and want to pay as little income tax as possible, which would be QUALIFIED dividends which would be SCHD.

@Joel-McConnell16 күн бұрын
50% SCHD and 50% VGT is what I have been doing for quite some time and it has been out performing the S&P to date, that of course could and probably will change over time. Plus buying/adding some BTC as it is currently the very best performing asset in the market so you do not want to miss out on that but don't go too crazy there. You can buy fractional shares of all of these in many brokerage accounts these days, this way you can spread out your investment over the exact dollars you have available at any given time. Do this for 30 years and you will be so rich it wont matter if you "chose correctly" ie.... if something else performed better when looking back, most likely something will no matter what you chose to do because the market is ever changing. You can always reallocate your percentages or ETF's as you go along through market changes if you want to but I don't bother, time will be on your side at your age so keep it simple and stay consistent. Tech over the long haul pretty much always outperforms the market and you are young so no worries there with VGT vs VOO or something else that tracks the S&P. I still chose VGT even at my age as I am not retired yet and want as much capital appreciation until I do which I am flexible about such timing with no hard date to actually retire so I can wait until things are up and looking good to then flip my money to something safer or more income focused when I do retire. The more growth I can get is also going to be better for my heirs, I have no plans on "spending it all" in my lifetime......Consistent time in the market is the very most important thing you can do rather than trying to time the market. Start off with the very most you can invest and then add the very most you can into these every week after payday, always pay yourself first, and live below your means or you will never have anything left over to invest......Figure out a way to live off of about 75% or less of your take home pay, save some cash for emergencies and then invest the rest. Be consistent and get it in the market every single week, "dollar cost averaging" no matter if the market is way up or way down, it won't matter in 30 years. Also do this inside a ROTH IRA and don't touch it! If you have some financial issues down the line figure out another way to solve that issue and pretend you are completely broke otherwise. You don't even have to look at it, just put the money in there and keep an eye on the market as a whole in case you see some other short term opportunity you can also take advantage of in addition to SCHD and VGT with any extra funds you may have, that is sort of what I do with BTC, it is both a short term and long term trade for me on the side of SCHD and VGT. Is this idea perfect, probably not, what is, but it works very well so far! :)

You'll never sleep well at night focusing on short-term gains. If you're investing in assets, use dollar cost averaging. That way you'll be happy if they go up or go down. Measure your horizon in decades, not months. According to the definition of a bull market, looking at the QQQ we're still in a bear. Same with the Nasdaq. Play the long game! Great to hear you're reinvesting dividends.
