Shavkat getting his mouth piece out and kept fighting was truly a sight to behold. His opponent saw he lost his mouth pieces and was laying serious hands on him to knock him out. Going hand to hand with someone like Neal without a mouthpiece is true warrior spirit.

@@seizonsha But how does it keep you from getting ko’d? If anything it helps getting ko’d cause your teeth aren’t all the way clenched. When you bite down without a mouthpiece you can take more of a punch cause your teeth are locked almost like a pit bull
@ImGonnaOilYouUp
@ImGonnaOilYouUp Жыл бұрын
@@lethweiblackbelt Actually, just solely clenching your jaw harder alone actually makes it easier for you to get knocked out. If your jaw is loser it can actually absorb the punch better, not that any of this actually matters though because any advantage/disadvantage as a result of whether the jaw is tightly clenched or not is pretty miniscule. Although there's no science to back what I'm about to say, I do believe that a strong neck can help reduce your chance of getting KO'd, so I could definitely see how biting down harder on the mouth piece COMBINED with bracing for the impact with your neck could help though, so there's that.
@lethweiblackbelt
@lethweiblackbelt Жыл бұрын
@@ImGonnaOilYouUpyeah I can definitely see that I just wasn’t sure. I know boxers do jaw and neck workouts and have been proven to help have a stronger chin. But you would think having your jaw looser would increase the chance of a KO, since the jaw would have more torque to cause the back of your head to shake and disconnect brain cells. While having the jaw tighter would decrease the amount of torque and force the jaw moves

You can see how he picks and chooses submission attempts in case they fail, to not lose the round should position be lost. You could see in this match he started to read Geoff's combos and would slip and counter them, a big development for a guy who used to not move his head much.

When it comes to Shavkat's Boxing he has that Soviet Style of Boxing similar to Bivol & Triple GGG very jab heavy with amazing distance management.
@Braaaains
@Braaaains Жыл бұрын
His style is similar and you can tell he's working on his striking, just by his stance and the way he was throwing his jabs in this fight and using the upper cut. But imo the footwork isn't quite there yet; it's still not attuned enough. And like HC says, sometimes he doesn't move his head, which might also be a focus/tunnel vision thing. Midrange seems to be where the hesitance occurs. Thanks for the insightful and entertaining breakdown HC. Considering his weapons and the probability that he'll be using them even better down the line, imo only Usman and Khamzat are major threats to him. Oh, caveat that I could be way off and completely waffling.

Similar to Bivol and triple G? These 2 guys are not similar to one another at all. Bivol is an in and out fighter and triple G fights Mexican pressure style. Yes they both jab, most boxers do. But very different fighters. Bivol has fast feet and uses them to run around the ring picking people off, while triple g sits down on almost every punch he throws and barely takes a step back. Bivol always coming in and out of range. Triple G always trying to stay in range. I'm trying to find any similarity between them from my memory but I can't, they are almost opposites in every way. And then to say shavkat is like either of them? Shavkat is a good fighter, I like him, tough as nails and ready for war, but nothing like 2 of the best boxers about. I know you didn't say he was as good, but you did say similar to them.

Shavkat has a big Muay Thai influence due to his striking coach. But the thing Muay Thai has always lacked is hands and head movement thus the reason when a Thai does lose its due to the hands like superbon. And that’s also why guys like Liam Harrison were so feared the hands on them were nothing to be messed with. Shavkat improves that and it’s over he’s on his way to becoming double champ at 170 and 185

Also because muay thai technique has been absolutely been reduced. Samart Payakaroon one of the greatest muay thai fighters ever, known for his movement, has said that muay thai has basically been reduced to just muay mat nowadays, and that many techniques from the golden age (60-80s) are just being ignored for powerful punches and low kicks. Which is being preferred by most thai people now

Tripple C says that head movement is extremely important, but look what happened to the p4p best fighter Usman, his downfall was head slip into a high kick.

Thanks TripleC, but you would be more surprised to see Shavkat's previous fights in M1 and fight in UFC with Michel Prazeres who like Neal never lost by submission. Shavkat's first sport at school was wrestling, then he also went to boxing and muay tai. After 17 he began mastering sambo. So he is well-rounded mix martial fighter and he trains with freestyle wrestlers of Olympic team of Kazakhstan. His takedowns are very effective, but Neal actually cheated when he couldn't make weight, almost 2 kilogrammes, and as Shavkat said in an interview that during the fight he felt Neal weighed almost 90 kilos. That was a significant advantage!

Maybe not the greatest but sky is the limit for him once he sorts out his head movement. And I really believe he'll be just fine with the wrestling.

*Shavkat Rakhmonov is a Silent Killer like Dmitry Bivol, GGG he has that Genghis Khan Blood in him and Opponent doesn't matter for him He goes out there to Crush them and their Soul, Will and After his Last Performance against a very Tough, Experienced Warrior Geoff Neal that Hits like a Truck i think a loot of people are Discrediting his Performance, Shavkat has an Amazing Grappling and jiu jitsu Skills thats why he has 8 Submissions yes he couldn't do much because Neal was Overweight and He has One of the Best if not the Best Incredible Takedown Defence in WW now Please don't Compare Shavkat and K*mshot because one of them is a Overrated Hype Job BUM that almost got Killed by a Chinny Small Lightweight Win that fight because He's Golden boy for Dana and Judges were side with him and the other one is a Silent Kazakh Monster that goes One by One..*

Fights like the one on Saturday make me more pissed off about the fact the UFC didn't want to pay Roberto Soldic so he could fight the best guys in the world just imagining a fight with him and Wonderboy, Dricus Du Plessis trilogy and a fight with Shavkat and Edwards those would have been such fun fights that would have ended in a finish and we will never see them.
