It is important to note that Otani's lawyer is accusing Ippei of theft, not embezzlement. It is unreasonable to ask someone who has been robbed to explain the details of how the theft was committed. Otani himself does not know the details, so he cannot say. That is the job of the investigating agency. There are several testimonies that Ohtani was furious after the Korean game when he learned the details of what had happened.

I love how Ohtani is convicted before any evidence, guilty or not. Did we not learn anything from the Trevor Bauer fiasco.

There may not be crying in baseball, but there sure is drama. We have gone from one to the next. Houston spying. Pitchers souping ball that the MLB is changing. Now this. WOW. I think I may cry.

No one calls the feds if they're guilty. But he absolutely has to explain how Ipe gets access to his accounts.

I believe Ohtani ...this is a nothing burger. But investigate it thoroughly and see what it is...for sure.

4.5mil of wire transfers over the course of 2 years are nothing for someone like Shohei who probably holds multiple bank accounts totaling around 100mil from endorsements and such... He's part of the super rich bracket where average people just can't comprehend how much and often the money is expended. Besides, Ippei isnt just an interpreter, he's personal assistant/manager who most likely had access to some of Ohtani's bank accounts, example including account used specifically to fund charities (source: Japanese news). Athletes getting scammed by own personal assistants and even family members are more common than some people think. Even when the "truth" comes out, im sure some people will definitely disagree with the outcome lol.

lol you guys are chomping at the bit for this man's life to be ruined, all because he plays for big brother.. your first sin is being baseball commentators who clearly hate baseball..your bigger sin is being bad people for wishing on someone's downfall.. you should be praying for a huge dodgers season.. your biggest views come when youre whining about them

The first story was true: Ohtani knew and helped out his friend out of a bad situation. Then ohtani found out by his lawyers that even knowing is illegal, his friend then said nevermind ohtani never knew anything
