wah, that uncle in green polo shirt, a bit exaggerated that for him alone every month spend 2k, but if your HDB flat is fully paid, and most of the time you cook your meal, monthly expenses should be less than 1k (including utilities, mobile subscription, take public transport).

Where did you get the statistics most Singaporeans are living in poverty? Don't just plug your figures from thin air. You may be living in poverty but have you ever wonder why you were different from others? A word of advice, get educated to begin with and understand there is no free lunch in this world. You have to work for it just like every other hard working Singaporeans.

I've seen a family of 4, eating at a hawker ctr. 4 x soft drinks + 4 different meals. Why not bring own plain water, which not only save $$ also healthier. And those cards still need to pray for blue Chas .. if other colour totally dont help alot ...is not fair to me . For low income or average income .. stay in HDB . All should be give more benefits. Just one finger on the systems gov should know how much per family earn ... and those children earning more but not staying with family should not be included for subsidiary system ... i have many old age friends that not working and only depends on few hundred to survive every month but didnt get help from gov then some have cos her daughter earning 6k ... is not fair to ppl like him ..
