Let's have a look at this from the point of view of law. In my country, SMOKING is defined and understood as smoking of tobacco or products that contain tobacco (cigarettes, cigars, pipe tobacco etc.) by law. That one, according to the Holy Qur'an 2:195 "... do not throw yourself [by your own hands] into destruction ..." is no doubt haram, since it harms your health. The same for drugs (weed, cocaine, heroine, atc.) alcohol, any stuff that is harmful to your body or mind, & not only smoking it but also drinking it or consuming it in any way is no doubt haram too. Now, there is a modern way of smoking, which is actually not considered smoking from legal point of view, as there is no tobacco (in many countries) contained, there is no burning, no chemical process that would produce stuff harmful to health - the electronical cigarettes. A liquid with flavour (with- or without- nicotine per choice) is heated by a battery and inhaled. So the question is - is this haram too? I'll welcome any opinions covered by arguments on this, thank you.

its addictive and still has some harmful effects on the body. The prophet SAW said "that if consumed largely is an intoxicant, then even a little bit is not allowed" Its a waste of money and we all know we are responsible for our wealth. We will be questioned about our wealth. You can spend the same amount of money on charity etc. So basically anything that has no benefit and harms you, its not allowed. So if it really does harm you so then its not allowed. JazakAllah Khair

Intoxicants such as drugs, adultry, zina of the eyes, etc. are forbidden in islam. So smoking is just as haram as drinking alcohol.

@Abdullah Ali Yes I am no scholar, but we can both agree that muslims should stay away from it. I see smoking as a toxicant, it's an addiction that many people find difficult to get out of, as well as the other things I've mentioned. It damages every single part of your body causing gum disease, risk of blood clots, stroke, heart attack, destroys your lung tissues and smoking affects the people around you too. If it's viewed as permissible what do you think the Muslims will do? Avoiding smoking is safer for Muslims and it prevents from destroying the body that you were blessed with.

Everyone from Huda TV, Sheikh Askim etc. I think you guys should require more knowledge before you call me out because I'm speaking out the truth and want to follow your needs. Smoking doesn't benefit you at all in fact you literally burn your money, you harm yourself, your harm people around you, the environment, children and so on. Even babies die from Smoking at home. Science has already found out how harmful it is. How can be non believers be smarter than people from our Ummah?! A lot of them take more care for their health. Even the smell is horrendous, you are not pleasing anyone. The spouses hate the smell, the angels hate the smell. The prophet peace be upon him, said to stay away from the mosque if you ate garlic and onions. How is the sickening smell of cigarettes any better? infact it makes me ill, the sharp fumes feel like my lungs are getting damaged against my will, think of the poor babies how bad it is for them. It causes cancer, abd every kind of illness etc. We are commanded not to harm our bodies, that's what islam teaches us. The pictures and the statements on every cigarette boxes are not printed for mere entertainment, there is a purpose behind it. How are these not evidences? So stop calling me out for speaking out the truth just because you people want to follow your nafs and needs and close your eyes in front of the truth and overall clear facts? Would the prophet s.a.w s smoke? A3udhu billah never!!!! In the end we are all going to stand in front of the almighty and have to explain everything that we have done, we should fear Allah and obey him.
