I am 100% certain that Soap being dead in this timeline doesn't matter. This MW timeline has gone off the rails and is no longer interesting. It is too convoluted and mixing the story with the MP/COOP has done nothing but made it worse. MW1 was a great start. MW2 felt like The Last Jedi. MW3 was watched on KZbin. We got all this colorful Gen Z BS operators mixed in with zombies and rap stars. Nah, the campaign getting all mixed up with the nonsense in MP killed it.

I actually appreciate that this makes sense timeline wise, although I still wish we were back to the MW19 days where season cutscenes were 1. Grounded (having a bunch of steampunk anime characters running around is just not my thing, it was always fine in black ops but leave my post MW19 universe alone, they crafted such an amazing space in MW19 and its cutscenes) 2. I wish cutscenes actually continued the story brining in classic MW characters like they did in MW19, this ties into my first point but they have such a landscape to work with and again for me personally they kill the story or investment when the cutscenes aren’t realistic and don’t mean anything anymore to a serious MW plot

What’s sad is how MW 19 player base was through the roof. It was back to its origins and everyone loved it, overall that’ll bring them in more profit long term. But, selling out to do dumbass collaborations (Nicki, snoop, Fallout, etc) kills the basis of call of duty. Warzone was a hit, it was for your causal players and og fans of the series. Now, like they fumbled in 2013 with ghost 10 years ruining the series. And I don’t have a lot of hope for BO6 either, already rumors of being back woods (who is clearly crippled by 1991). Lastly, bringing back dead people who so happened to be fan favorite ruins creativity, yes you can get away with a false death maybe one or two times, but when you clearly see a person get a bullet to their brain they are out for the count. It ruins the incentive to make new characters that have a chance to carry the franchise into the future. For example, just because Mason is in hiding and woods is in a wheelchair, Adler could carry the black ops series.

Oh yeah, I’m gonna theorize again. This time about the timeline of the seasons. As known, Season 4 takes place in May of 2022. Its theme? DNA and Bioweapons. What was last seasons theme? Rebirth island and makarov. Rebirth was a Nova 6 production facility in the black ops timeline, and Nova 6 is well known to be a BIOWEAPON. Perhaps season 3 takes place sometime after the campaign, and season 4 sees itself as a scenario and threat that is comparable to what makarov is doing, and this similar scenario just happens to include Soap MacTavish. As for season 2? Perhaps ghost exploring his inner demons after Soaps death (as they showed a bond with one another in MW2, and ghost could be disgruntled after his friend’s death).
