I think people praise the cutscene animation so much cause it is a massive improvement from the first adventure game's cutscenes. Though most animations are better than SA1's cutscene animations. Cause personally, they look off to me. Using mocap for sonic characters looks so strange

I agree especially compared to the likes of ratchet and clank and games in those era. it looked extremely off putting

@@HadiMert and it looks like sonic team still don't know how to animate sonic characters well in cutscenes. To this day, every cutscene made by sonic team is okay looking at best. The one exception being that opening cutscene in unleashed. And even so, that was made by another studio. I think it was blur studios. I mean I get it, the character proportions make it hard to animate them. But we have seen that the characters can be animated well. That cutscene and the netflix sonic show are good examples

Hey! Sonic fan here! The game that got me into Sonic was Sonic Adventure, predecessor to this one. I would recommend it far more than SA2, which i didn't like as much as SA1 for basically the same reasons as you. Treasure hunting in SA1 was more simple, the Robot stages had a little more platforming and there are the Adventure Fields which give a kore explorational feel to the thing.

While I think as an 8 year old I absolutely LOVED this game. It's flaws weren't noticeable to due to my age. Now it's not as fun for me to play, but the memories are still there. The story is decent, but it requires more research than the game gives you unfortunately. I enjoyred the video and gave a sub! I hope to see more fun stuff from you!

I know no one here is gonna talk about it. But by god Sonic's running animation sucks. It looks like an absolute strobing mess. Now funnily, when you slow down the footage, the running looks fine. It has a nice sway and head bob to it. But the had to speed it up because it's sonic. Unfortunately because of that, it's a wreck. I wouldn't be complaining so much if they didnt already do it better in the first adventure game and its time of release

Honestly, same with Shadow’s skating animation when he’s going fast. It looks lowkey kinda goofy and like he’s about to trip anytime soon

@@gir-mon3778 it is a little goofy, but Shadow's full speed animation does look pretty good. It have a smooth motion to it and is probably the best looking run in the entire game. A lot better than 06's Shadow's animations. By God all of his animations are so stiff looking there. I so hope the P06 team redo his animations
