We have found that outdoor games with speedsofters can be a lot of fun. It also changes the dynamics of the game with how fast paced it can become but we never feel as if theres an unfair advantage with someone having a pistol with a 300 round m4 mag, just tests your own skill and ability.

One of our local outdoor fields actually built a pole-barn with a CQB setup inside, just to cater to the speedsofters. It works really well, because all the speedy bois play in there all day, and leave the rentals and walk-on players alone.

Before I quit airsoft, the most fun I ever had was running minimal gear with a small HPA tapped MP7 playing CQB Not worrying about looking cool carrying tons of gear/a big gun, or taking 10-20 min to find a gunfight only to get hit and walk back to spawn. For the casual player the speedsoft route is the way to go. Fast and fun. I hope to get back into the sport one day.

hi Jonathan! yes, speedsoft has definitely been growing, albeit at a much slower pace, here in Taiwan. especially now that Action Bunker has closed. but Taichung has a couple indoor fields opening up so we'll see. can't wait to check out the scene in the states in a few days!

I basically went full circle with the speedsoft thing. Started out normal indoor airsofter at 10 with an aeg, then I got a gas blowback pistol, then I hpa the gas blowback pistol, then I got a polarstar and competed competitively on a team, team broke up I went back to hpa pistol, and now 12 years after I first started airsoft I just use green gas pistol and consider myself a "normal" airsofter: no speedsoft no milsim. I wish things were back to where they used to be when players were just airsofters, not speedsofters or milsimers. I get the whole milsim events or speedsoft tournaments, but casual games it's kind of annoying when you have to deal with somebody who's entire airsoft identity is speedsoft or milsim.

Sadly I gave up airsoft indoor due to the amount of spray and pray playing that was going on. I believe outdoor organised events that have a military base of play with tactics and teams/units keep the old style game play to the best playing standards.

Not trying to throw hate, but I’ve personally seen speedsoft kill a lot of indoor places in the NY/NJ area. Many players, including myself, have started to almost exclusively play outdoors because of the speedsoft style players. And it’s beginning to kill off the little business indoor fields would get. Which is really a shame, cause I can genuinely see the appeal of that type of play. But the problem is that it’s hard to get into for new players, and many of the “old school” guys like me just simply don’t want to. But unless you’re specifically at a game to play in that style, it isn’t really fun for anyone else. It’s like trying to get someone who plays Squad/Arma exclusively to play a game of Apex Legends.

I don’t think speedsoft style works outdoors that well. I still play aggressively outdoors but there’s a big difference between running for 30 seconds to get back into the fight compared to running across woodland is a huge factor. Plus outdoors play seems to be more campy so run and gun doesn’t do too well with it. Still rock a hpa ssg and dye mask outdoors though

The SpeedQB style is limited in Japan at indoor fields because you can't run indoors at most fields. You can only walk so it kind of forces indoor play to be more methodical like real CQB. Would be interesting to see if a US based indoor field adopted the same policies how it would drive play.
@GaosenKinetics
@GaosenKinetics 2 жыл бұрын
The thing is that indoor fields in Japan are still dominated by Japan's version of speedsoft players, who are known for playing the "UAB" format. It's notably different from what people think of as "speedsoft" in the West in that there's less aggressive movement and high-powered guns and more emphasis on skilled pop-shooting, but its similar insofar as playing airsoft in the guise of competitive-focused formats and rulesets (and indeed in Japan the players of SpeedQB and UAB overlap a lot). It still also causes a level of consternation in Japan when people who are more interested in casual play or cosplay-esque airsoft outings come up against players who are able to severely beat them. This is made worse to an extent by Japanese fields often using single-life play formats; if you consistently come up against someone who immediately takes you out, it means you may barely play throughout an entire session. So while a lot of the details and stereotypes (i.e. overpowered guns, overshooting etc.) of competitive style players in the West are different from what you see in Japan, the base issue of very different needs/wants and playstyles coming into potential conflict remains.

Do you have any tips of how to raise enough funds to get it started? The airsoft scene is somewhat big over here but its mostly divided into 4 sections North, South, East, and West have different fields that they play at I have been to most of the fields here and talked to a lot of players and they all want the same thing a indoor field that has Rules Referees and a store all in one place I got the store thing down but thats about it.

I think I accidentally became a speedsofter at the ai500 last weekend, it was in a shopping centre and my 7" MTW just felt slow, heavy and cumbersome in that environment. So I slapped a 350rnd gas drum mag (that I had bought for this event) into my ssp18 and spent most of the weekend using that I had also spent a £130 on buying what I needed to do a 7" setup on my MTW for that event I have never done so much running in my life I think my legs finally fully recovered 4 days after the event But it helped the team while most were holding back playing tactical I was charging forward taking players by surprise and getting them off those corners stairwells ect

Myself and my two sons have been playing for less than a year. That said we have two fields locally. One indoor arena and one outdoor field. The speedsofters all play at the indoor field. You basically never see them at the outdoor field. Interestingly, some of the outdoor guys will go to the indoor field to do some CQB stuff. Personally, I don't take any of this stuff seriously so we do both. They're both fun in their own way.

@@zacbram8053 there are insurance companies that offer policies specifically built for airsoft fields. Just have to do a little research. Also, you have to see if the zoning laws for your property permit that kind of activity. Typically, it needs to be land zoned as recreational to allow outdoor airsoft, which brings its own issues as you cannot build permanent structures on recreational property. It would be worth going to your local township with a proposal and they could give you a better idea if it is okay.

Hey jona! We actually have an area in Denmark that we built ourselves in a factory we borrow from the owner, which is only for milsim/tactical games. There we only use, for example, a tourniquet for resuscitation, no counting in. The problem is that most see speedsoft as an enemy and not a lose leader. After all, they are really competitive, so that will automatically make the sport, an actually sport. Personally, I think it should be seen as an overall goal. Fields can, for example, divide the days into specific events. Saturday is speedsoft, Sunday is normal/milsim or similar. We had a local speedsoft guy attending berget this year. Was amazing to see, and he did it very well too. Love your content! You actually already have talked about my/our channel before, but defently should look again, since we made a couple of new videos from an area we actually got, for only realism and milsim games. kzbin.info Best regards, Alex/Misfits!

Most of the pushback or problems I've seen in the UK and TW with Speedsoft/SpeedQB is when you try and mix it with other players, which is an unfortunate reality for many site operators due to logistics and visitor/player numbers. When given its own space to occupy exclusively and all players sign up for it and the rules, it works well enough.

In a wooded field and uneven ground the speedsoft play is damn near impossible. They sometimes come to the field in their indoor speedsoft clothes and well their bright and colors or black gear is easy to see in the day and me who has a sr25 dmr with 400fps with a .3g bb semi locked. Yeah it is easy picking for me. Dsg are not great for outdoors. Also they cannot spam or feather the trigger. Same goes for regulars and milsim players. Yeah they don't have to much fun against any polostar lmg. I have seen some speedsoft players get a milsim loadout for outdoors because pushing to hard or sprinting in the open where it is sometimes level has lead to either a spraned ankle or wrist or a broken bone. They did sign the waver and are warned ahead of time and well it is like basically I can bring a horse to water but it doesn't mean it will drink the water. Outdoor level fields are great for both speedsoft, milsim and noobies. But for extremely hilly field with level terrain that leave out in the open like a sitting duck where taking it carefully and slowly into the woods is the better option I hear alot of them complaining and them leaving early. Always have a primary gun for indoor and another for outdoors and maybe a third that can be used in both. If you don't prepare you will have a terrible time. Their is a reason mil speed exists they have adapted to both playstyles into one so they can play anywhere. Sorry for making this so long but their is no way to have shortened this without sounding pretentious. Thank you for your time and have a great day.

I have seen some speedsofters (even small teams) play on outdoor fields. Most other players (outdoor players mind you) I talk to, like 90% of them, strongly dislike these players on these fields. This includes myself as well. Mostly because this playstyle negates all the tactical play most outdoor players are looking for and it just becomes a bullet(bb)-fest in the closer areas of the field. Including lots of overshooting, even on single-shot events. What we usually do is just ignore those parts, but since at least some objectives are always in those areas this becomes just frustrating to play around. To quoute a teammate of mine regarding this: "They have their indoor fields, they should stay there if that's all they can/will do and let outdoor players play their way on the outdoor fields". 1 positive side on the speedsofters on outdoor fields: their coloured Dye-masks stand out very well in the sun, like a beacon asking to be shot.

People who want to play airsoft need to accept getting hit. Whether its 2 bb's or 20. You play because you want to shoot. Expect to get shot as well. Simple. Talking about quickness of equipment and players is pointless. Games will evolve. Just accept the game the way its played by most players and you'll enjoy it better. If you don't, then it wasn't for you to get shot in the first place.

In my opinion airsoft is airsoft. People are becoming too soft and don’t like getting out played or shot in a game you play to shoot each other. Then complain and say it’s over shooting when they take 3-5 bbs to their person. And I guarantee the majority isn’t just shooting 1 bb each encounter to hit a person. If people played to have fun and stop complaining when they’re beating airsoft would be more fun. Just a lot of egotistical people…

@@michaelmccr3294 that’s honestly odd. Then again for me my methods is to leave it exposed after scabbing. Keeping it covered keeps it moist underneath imo slowing the healing process

@@blkairsoft55 I covered it cause the bleeding would not stop for 1 week cause I was working for 3 weeks straight without letting it rest and heal but I did take it off after it stopped just to scab but liek I said the bb shot it was very deep to the point that you can see the bone and the scab kept falling off everything it tried to heal under it as it was deep and the scab could fully cover it ibut it heal in the end not fully though as it's still sensitive and hurt when I hold my aeg for a good time

@@michaelmccr3294 ok the constant movement makes sense. Pretty much never had the chance to heal properly from the shot due to work and etc in your life. I gotcha 👍🏾. Mine was a deep bruising but not showing bone but I avoided heavy use.

Where are all the GBBR Magazines at to buy, whether WA based or those for the WE Tech open bolt system, or any other!? Its not just in the USA, but Asia and Europe too, where GBBRs are hugely popular. Online sellers and Ebayers are even gouging on prices for the little available. Xie xie, Laowhy.

Casual Play is NOT Dead lets keep it 100 TROLLS, GUYS NOT CALLING HITS, FIGHTS and FREAKOUT VIDEOS are the result of the casual play model if the fields Are Not DOING THEIR PART PROVIDING THAT SAFE FUN ENVIRONMENT... Every field that is open is Profit driven first... if they were service minded Both models would be fun and to be honest they are... As Player We have to know when to hold back a field full of nobs is not the time to balls deep like your getting paid for every BB fired and Bonus for EMPTY MAGS... But a GoPro and KZbin is Kryptonite... For Guy Like Myself I had fun with Noobs and SpeedQB teams But at this point i like the nature of Competition its a different Rush.
