Living through your vids as I recover. FYI- I tossed a bass in from 3 ft on one of my vids and the us embassy called me about fish cruelty 😂 people were really pressed about a 3 ft fall into deep water. Rant over.

I had someone get furious at me once because I missed betting a trout and it hit the wood part instead of the net. I feel you man lol

I’m more than game man. I’ve been wanting to throw a fly on the big river just to see what happens

The answer is yes. You don't need an expensive $1000 flyfishing setup to catch fish. The only advantage of flyfishing is being able to cast dry flies far. If you get to indicators, whats even the difference at that point..

Fly fishing doesnt have to be expensive, I’ve caught fish on cheap and expensive rods. Never had a thousand dollars in rods. Just a preference. Neither is right, neither is wrong.

Definitely not the only advantage…. I use fly gear in lakes and outfish guys trolling wedding rings. casting weightless wet flies on a sinking line is deadly

in terms of effectiveness in my 2 years of fishing both spin and fly I would have to give it to the spin especially if using live bait. I really wanted to love the fly more but being so easy and versatile the spin rod always catches more. I've barely caught any fish on fly can be in a spot for hours trying then switch out to a spin rod and get a fish within minutes. After 30 sessions on the fly without any fish it does get to be a bit boring.

No doubt that spin fishing with live bait is very effective. Fly fishing can be very effective for certain applications but has its limits. I find it more rewarding to fly fish, but sometimes you just want to relax and catch fish with a spinning reel. Both have their place

I think its worth the hassle, the joy and subtle feeling is unique. But i do it not much these days. Use my spinrod more i live in holland and fish for different species then you i must admit

I agree it’s worth it, but some days it’s nice to get the spin rod out as well. And that’s awesome, what do you usually fish for?

@@606OnTheFly hi brother i mostly fish for carp or pike. The carp thing is a nice way to camp outside but actual fishing i mostly do with my spinrod i live next to THE big pike lake of the netherlands. But that is a big big lake so its often just being out and not catching all the time. Whats your favorite species?

That’s really cool, I’ve actually never caught a carp or a pike. My favorite fish to target are smallmouth bass, and occasionally I run in to Muskie fishing for them

Apples to oranges...if you enjoy skill use flies, if you just want to put it in a pan, spin.

I agree they both have their place, and sometimes you just prefer one to another
