I must only add that this Father Matthew analyzes and speaks like a Scholar with a humbleness that is touching.

Fr. Matthew, thank you for taking time to compile the different text from the evangelists concerning the life of St. Mary Magdalene that brings light to one’s confusion. It’s easier now to follow and understand the verses in the Bible the moment her name is mentioned. God bless and prayers for you Fr. Matthew.

Thank you Father Matthew for taking the time to prepare this talk. I genuinely appreciate your efforts. I must listen again as I was driving so I couldn’t give 100 per cent attention. In my mind I prefer to think there is just One Mary, of Bethany and Magdalene. Your explanations made perfect sense. I am trying hard to be more Mary, less Martha. God bless you always. Karyn

Thank you Fr. Tomney for this clarification, before Mass this morning I asked the same question if Mary Magdalene was the the Mary sister of Martha and Lazarus. However, my Priest's answer was not so clear, he said that Mary was a common name during Jesus' time, therefore, Martha's sister Mary was most likely not Magdalene. But the manner in which you have referred to all four Gospels in explaining this, it clearly shows that Mary Magdalene is Mary of Bethany. God bless you Fr...

Thank you, Father Matthew for the continuation of this talk. The additional information provided more clarity into first century customs and traditions which supports that Mary Magdalene, Mary of Bethany and Mary the sister of Martha and Lazarus, was indeed one person. How stunning to envision her at all three stages of her life as the recipient of healing from her demons, and then the Divine Mercy of Jesus, and finally her total conversion and commitment to Him. I will probably listen again soon to father Chris’s talk on the Davinci Code, which debunks the “noise” surrounding the relationship between Mary Magdalene and Jesus. God bless you Father Matthew.

There is also the peculiar fact that BOTH "Mary Magdeline" and "Mary of Bethany" had 7 devils cast out of them/her.

Good presentation. I would like to suggest a topic: Mary the Mother of Jesus and her sisters. Are there 3 Marys daughters of St. Anna? Full sisters or half sisters? Who are they married to? Were they followers of Jesus? Were all 3 Marys at the foot of the Cross? Thank you for your consideration. God bless you 🙏

"The traditional uncertainty of the Latin Church about the identity of Mary - the Magdalene to whom Christ appeared after his resurrection, the sister of Martha, the sinner whose sins the Lord had forgiven - which resulted in the inclusion of Martha alone on 29 July in the Roman Calendar, has been resolved in recent studies and times, as attested by the current Roman Martyrology, which also commemorates Mary and Lazarus on that day. Moreover, in some particular calendars the three siblings are already celebrated together. Therefore, the Supreme Pontiff... has decreed that 29 July be designated in the General Roman Calendar as the Memorial of Saints Martha, Mary and Lazarus" (Congregation for Divine Worship and the Discipline of the Sacraments, 26 January 2021)

You talked about why there were two angels,"And she saw two angels in white, sitting where the body of Jesus had lain, one at the head and one at the feet." Have you considered the similarities of mercy seat on the ark of the covenant ? " And the cherubim shall have their wings spread upward, covering the atoning cover with their wings and facing one another; the faces of the cherubim are to be turned toward the atoning cover." So a Cherub at the foot and the head of the mercy seat.

Same account in all four gospels. Jesus said it Himself, "Wherever the gospel is published her story will be told" That's why it has to be in all of these true gospels. False gospels like Gospels of Thomas, Philip, Judas,Maryetc. will exclude it. They disagree that someone could obtain forgiveness so quickly.

Father, what about the adolterouse woman that Jesus saved from stoning? She is a third woman. But at that time was there a difference between a prostiute and an adolterouse woman? On the other hand neither Mary Magdalena or Mary of Bethany does the testaments designate as a prostitute.???
