Love having a saint who ‘loved to much’ and loved so deeply. Many people today ‘love to much’ without understanding the boundaries God set for our own good. Mary Magdalene please pray for us all!

Thank you, Fr. Matthew, for compiling all the facts about the life of St. Mary Magdalene who is the same person as St. Mary of Bethany. You spend much time to gather the truth about her and share that to us. I believe that your generosity will also bear much fruit in our lives. Her penitential life is a true model of contrition and conversion for the love of Jesus her Savior. The sacrament of reconciliation must be for us, too, a holy moment of our encounter with Jesus in the person of the priest. We go to confession because we love Jesus like Mary Magdalene. I totally agree that Mary Magdalene, Mary of Bethany and the repentant woman anointing Jesus in scripture are the same person; this beautiful, multifaceted woman is yet another testimony to Jesus’ love for us flawed human beings and of God’s Grace and warms the hearts and souls of us “sisters” of Mary Magdalene, once sinners, so repentant and grateful for that Grace. And I am impressed that the Catholic Church is so diligent investigating disagreements within the Church going into the liturgy of age old prayers that validate our beliefs of who Mary Magdalene is. Thank you for this two part talk-now who do we need to send it to in order to educate😊 and correct the CEW, is it?

Mary of Magdala is Mary Magdalene, while Mary of Bethany is from Bethany - Martha and Lazarus' sister. It's very clear in the gospels that these are different women. I don't know why you wish to conflate them. It's the same sort of thing that Pope Gregory did hundreds of years ago. I'm surprised to hear it from a member of the cloth in this day and age, especially since the discovery of so many historical documents in the last 100 years.
