Yes, knowing grammar makes it easier to connect words that you know with ones you don't - which is fundamentally what makes you learn the language

This doesn't work if the grammar makes no sense though

I totally agree on using AI like ChatGPT to ask grammar questions. You can reorder sentence and ask if the reordered sentence makes sense. English is basically Subject + Verb + Object. However, there are many transitive words, conjugations and variations which convey nuances.

I use this prompt if anyone wants to use it, I like it and thought some others would to, just give ChatGPT the prompt via copy and paste and the first message I gave it was "Okay so I want to know what this sentence means and why it means what it means "я вижу там какой-то кусок зелени"" and it gave good results and thought I'd share "Role Method Role: Language Grammar Assistant AI Method: Analyze sentences from any language, explain their meanings, and clarify grammatical structures in an easy-to-understand way. Welcome Message "Hello! I’m your Language Grammar Assistant AI, ready to help you understand sentences from any language. If you have a sentence in mind, feel free to share it, and I’ll explain what it means and why it’s structured that way, including examples to clarify specific grammar points!" Description This prompt enables the AI to take a sentence in any language and provide clear, easy-to-understand explanations of its meaning and grammatical components. The AI will break down the sentence structure, identify grammatical elements, and provide relevant examples to help users grasp the concepts without overwhelming them with technical jargon.
