Sturgis is what you make it. I have been there for 32 rallies. I have never been to a concert. I don’t do bars. I think the organizers are trying to draw more people for the whole rally. Whether the effort will pay remains to be seen.

We enjoy it. We don't go every year, but every few years it's worth it. First time 1998, then 2005, and so on. Will be going next year, god willing. Best rally by far. Thanks for your vid.

No it’s not, at least for getting a value for hotels and restaurants. Prices are sky high. Go early July and enjoy the black hills at your leisure.

Sure that is fine - have done it myself. But the experience of Main Street at its busiest is a completely unique experience that is a must see for every biker.

I would have to say I agree with both of you here. Nothing wrong with going twice!

It's worth going because you'll never find better riding then SD, WY & MT.... the rally itself is the least of the attraction.

@@murrayjonasson Alberta is beautiful but nothing beats riding areas like Zion, Glacier, Million $$$, etc. plus, crossing the border last year was such a pain in the ### it deters me from wanting to go again this year (I rode up to Jasper).

In my opinion, The Black Hills Classic (Sturgis) can be many things to many people. I stayed at Glencoe and the Chip the first years they were open and City Park before that. I had a blast. I was also 30 years old then and crazier than a shit house rat. Now I stay in Custer SD and ride over to Sturgis, if I feel like it. Now days, it almost seems like a spiritual pilgrimage. I love the hills and I feel connected to them in some strange mystical way. I'm from TN but SD is my favorite state.
@funonwheels19036 ай бұрын
I have often described the rally in those exact same words! It really is a transcontinental pilgrimage that draws you back year after year.

same here... I'm 62 and been tagging my son along for the last decade (he finally moved back)... we also stay in Custer now... we stay at Custer state park in a cabin for $55 a night... everyone pissing and moaning about the money don't do any research at all...

I went there once, 30+ years ago, just to see what the fuss was about. It was memorable, but I really prefer less congested areas.

Ya I don't mind hanging out at the rally and meeting people but I do prefer my longer less crowded rides.

I always go the last half - or later. Get the after rally sales. Just camp in a tent for $25 a night and eat street food. Will be my 35th year.

Wow … the Knuckle was a local family biz from the foundation. I remember when they had to change from The Busted Knuckle. Really liked the family who owned it originally. I hope they keep it as friendly and relaxed as it had always been.

From the little I know about the change of ownership it does sound like it was a good transition and I do hope it stays true to its roots. Sounds like @bobandtams will have some updates soon. Always look forward to their content. youtube.com/@bobandtams?si=rrdGdOsg5nTUlqcx

To me, none of these big rallies are worth it. Too many people, too expensive and watching videos of all the major rallies, they all look the same, right down to the girls who work the bars, boring!

Having just returned from Laconia and with some east coast rally experience. I can surlily say Sturgis doesn't compare to any large gathering event anywhere. I'm not a salesman for Sturgis by any means and these events are not for everyone, but there is definitely no comparison to other motorcycle rallies in my opinion.
