Using word "rip off" to describe a TAG Heuer watches when at the same time praising Rolex, Patek and such brands which are overpriced by every measure and logic known to man is hypocritcal. Just tell me manufacture cost of a Rolex watch, probably less than 1k, but selling for 10k. Patek manufacture cost 5k, selling for 100k. Who's the fool here?

I think the snobery with why all the watchguys have started to pick on more of the available watch brands due to the non exclusivity of the models and the fact that you can buy them fairly readily. Tag has always been in shadows of omega and breitling. Omega and Breitling models are under some of the same scrutiny sometimes. The fact the rolexs are so hard to get right now doesnt help. People will say ahh tag isnt huer to try to discredit it somehow when the truth is they all have there high end and low end models and periods of production.

This video did not age well. 😂 Tag Heuer is amongst still one of the finest watch brands today. They listen to their customers and have upgraded their parts and movements to some of the best in the industry. Not to mention their upgraded beautiful designs recently. Their pricing is spot on for the quality you get compared to paying overpriced brands such as Omega or Rolex.

So Tag uses Sellita calibres in $4k watches but they also use it in $2,850 Carreras. And IWC charges good $ on watches they use it in and people have plenty good to say about IWC… so where does that leave us ??
@navsofour28922 жыл бұрын
Very very very accurate watches if you speak about Tag Heuer. Never fails to surprise how accurate they are. Generally may look a bit cheaper than Rolex on the wrist though but then generally you paid much less as well. The key is to choose something that goes on well with you and you feel comfortable wearing. It's not about the watch personality it's about your personality wearing the watch, same as fine clothing.
@furr6662 жыл бұрын
Many of Tags (aquaracer) watches (& other more expensive watches) use the super accurate & reliable ETA 2824-2 movement. A well proven workhorse & is often bought & altered slightly by other companies who then call it their own... so basically, the engine/heart/movement in a TAG is among the best that can be bought
@paulbonaventura49693 жыл бұрын
TO each his own. I like Tag designs (current design). It's "attainable" luxury in the way you can actually get one. Never pay MSRP (for anything...and never pay over MSRP for anything ...like the stupid Rolex you will get robbed for). Louie Vuitton might know a thing or two about luxury products... so yes, they are luxury but at the end of the day. What is luxury ? it's up to you to decide.

I would rather have a Tag Heuer than a Rolex, as Rolex think I am not worthy to own their watch, hence the silly games one needs to indulge in to acquire one. My dream watch is a Rolex Submariner no date, but alas I will never own one, even though I have the money. I also am of the opinion that Rolex and the ADs should be prosecuted for going against the basic principles of capitalism, e.g. you work to earn money, which you are then free to spend on what you like, without restriction. I am sure any reasonable person would agree with me.

The Tag F1 quartz is my everyday driver. Excellent watch. So simple, versatile, clean, and easy to maintain. “High horology” to me are the Pateks or FP Journes of world with many complications. I consider Tag to be in a similar realm as Longines. Tag just markets well especially in sports. Rolex is the same way. If you want your brand to explode, sponsor sports venues. Tag is huge in the Asian market not so much in the US.

🤣 they use quartz, well woopdie doo so does Omega, Brietling, Tissot, Grand Seiko, Christopher Ward and so on, guess they aren't luxury brands either and the Omega and Brietling quartz are also 2-3 times the price of a Tag and don't forget the piece of crap moonswatch Omega + Swatch, you couldn't get less luxury if you tried! There's also nothing wrong with outsourcing movements it's a good way to keep prices down unlike Omega who have nearly doubled the price of their starting range automatics over the last couple of years. The one thing reviews like this never mention is how a watch makes you feel when you wear it, that's personal choice, I like Omega and Tag Heuer, I think Brietling looks like overpriced oversized cheap tat as does Rolex but, I know they are not, thats just how they look to me, that's my personal feeling though, I'd take a Grand Seiko spring drive any day over Rolex and have enough money left over to go and buy another watch from Omega or Tag Heuer. Then there's this thing called understanding the market place, if someone buys a high quality lower priced Quartz movement when they are younger or get as a gift it's highly likely they will go back and buy a more expensive watch when they are older and earning more. Which means Tag are selling to a lower earner, a mid earner and high earners, something most luxury brands can't do. Heuer nearly went bank rupt until Tag purchased them because they were solely focused at the luxury side of the market, the same nearly happened to Omega just before being used in a Bond film, that one movie saved them from solvency, what are they going to do if Bond stops popularising their watches, with all the new brands coming along they will just stop being purchased and Omega will be in trouble again. Oh and none of the others have made anything as special as the the Tag Heuer belt driven watch, if that's not making something special I don't know what is! it's not precious metals and diamonds, that is done to death and you'll just look like an idiot rapper who thinks he looks cool wearing it and just looks like a twat.

But that’s the point, you can’t get a Rolex in steel let alone precious metal variants. So it’s a useless comparison

26,000 for a gold chronograph is not absurd, one of my favorite omegas which I will not be buying is $24000 not using a chronograph, and many companies that make column wheel chronographs charge about $9000 for a stainless steel watch. and then to point at a rolex GMT and say it's less... that rolex was not fully gold cased, you can see the stailess lugs...and you're going to spend 35000 on the rolex because it's impossible to get from an AD

But the thing is that Rolex has already inserted into the minds of horological community its asserted value whilst HeuerTag has been described as the underdog although they were both have the same craftsmanship and outstanding rigidity nevertheless HeuerTag has also established its name in watchmaking industry as luxury watch entry level form even though there were minor setbacks due to how it is being seriously managed dependently or independently.

SOME STUFF TO READ AND LEARN BEFORE YOU TALK ...............Fun fact: TAG Heuer is the largest Swiss producer of tourbillons. It’s a statement that if made a decade ago would have emitted oh-so-Swiss snickers of disbelief in the rarefied halls of Baselworld or SIHH. Tourbillons, according to the narrative, are the epitome of hand-crafting - tiny components that take precious hours to intricately assemble. But here we are, and TAG Heuer has upset the applecart with its CNC-produced tourbillon, which offers the same visceral, whirling coolness at a price that - while still clocking in at five figures - is, what market analysts would say, aggressively competitive. And while the Heuer 02T tourbillon has been around for a while now, the newest darling is the very impressive Nanograph, which serves as a heroic standard-bearer for TAG Heuer’s carbon alternative to silicon technology. Watch on to check out our picks of the current collection.
