So what to an English speaker would sound like the same word, said in a rising tone vs. a falling tone, are actually two entirely different words. Thai has 5 tones.

The only part I saw that could be construed as potentially negative toward Quincy was when Chris and Keith were joking about him coming between their relationship. Except... they were quite clearly just messing around, and it seemed like Quincy had more than enough of a sense of humor to me at least that he got they were joking.
